Op-Ed: Why A Frum Jew Cannot Vote Democrat: PERIOD

I would like to address an issue that has been bothering me lately, support in the Frum and Chabad community for a Biden/Harris ticket.

They say that Trump is mean, immoral, irresponsible and not fit to be president.

Biden is a decent person and he will bring normalcy back to American politics.

Trump cheated on his taxes, is a racist, is responsible for the Covid-19 death rate and many many more reasons.

If we didnt have the Torah to guide us, that would be a reasonable debate and I would understand how frum yidden can have opposing views on the matter.

However if one looks a little bit deeper, it is obvious that most of the democratic platform on social matters is entirely against Torah and that it is immoral to vote for anyone on a democratic ticket, PERIOD.

I will go into one example in depth, which I think should be sufficient.

One of the biggest divides in American politics is being pro choice or pro life.

In simple terms that means, does one support the right for a woman to have an abortion or not.

Democrats largely support the right for a woman to choose to have an abortion and the Republican platform is opposed.

One of the saddest moments in American history happened on January 22nd 1973, when the supreme court decided that a woman largely has the right to have an abortion.

That case is known as Row. V. Wade.

Ever since then, approximately 40-50 million abortions have been carried out.

When you average this unfathomable number it comes out to about 3000 abortions a day.

This is what is known as the silent holocaust.

Some people have a basic misconception that abortion is only forbidden for a jew to carry out.

As a matter of fact, the Gemara in Sanhedrin 57 b, brings us the opinion of Rabbi Yishmoel who tells us that abortion is considered murder.

The Rambam in Perek Tes, Halacha Daled, when writing the Halachos of the Sheva Motzvos Bnei Noach, brings this down as the Halacho.

As a matter of fact, there is an argument among the poskim, some of whom say that even where some say that there is an exception that allows a jewish mother to have abortion, for example if the fetus is known to be very I’ll, or if the mother will suffer a lot as a result of the birth, there is no exception for a non jewish mother.

The only exception that everyone agrees on, is if there is a clear danger to the mothers life.

In summation, the democratic platform is against Torah and supports murder.

It is wrong to vote for them no matter who the candidate is until they change their positions.
