1 to 2 Inches of Snow Expected Today

After a few mild days, snow is in the forecast for New York City. According to the National Weather Service, about 1 to 2 inches is expected to fall on the city, with higher amounts expected further east and especially on Long Island.

Snow is expected to fall late Thursday night through Friday morning, but it should wind down by late Friday morning.

Friday morning, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 20s to 30 degrees, staying near freezing until about 10 or 11am. But things should warm up enough by afternoon so that the snow does not remain.

There is also a 30 percent chance of snowfall Saturday night into Sunday morning.
