More Snow to Follow Freezing Rain and Sleet

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the New York City area until Tuesday morning. After a morning bout of freezing rain, snow and sleet, the National Weather Service expects more snow to develop in the afternoon and continue through Monday evening.

Right now in the city, most untreated surfaces have become slippery and dangerous, after having been coated with a thin layer of sleet earlier this morning.

Temperatures today are expected to be in the mid-20s, but will feel like they’re in the teens.
