NYPD Ticket Blitz Targets Drivers Without Seat-Belts

More than 3,000 NYC motorists were ticketed for failing to buckle up during the latest seat belt enforcement campaign.

The Thruway Authority and the state police unit that patrols the Thruway system say Thursday that about 3,300 motorists were written up for violating New York’s seat-belt law during the “Click It or Ticket” crackdown held the last two weeks in May.

Troop T joined about 500 law enforcement agencies statewide in the 14-day initiative to enforce the seat belt law.
