BDE: Rebbetzin Golda Aronow, 89, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rebbetzin Golda Aronow OBM, wife of Reb Menachem Mendel Hakohen sheyichye Aronow. She passed away this past shabbos, the 19th of Iyar, 5781.

She was 89 years old.

Rebetzin Aronow was born on Tzom Gedalia 1931, to Reb Chaim and Esther Rochel Minkowtiz of Nevel, and was taught from an early age how to have hachnosas orchim even to the point of mesiras nefesh.

In 1954, Rebetzin Aronow and her husband moved to Toronto, Canada and were from the founding members of the Chabad Lubavitch community of Toronto. For decades her home was where bochurim and anash would come and farbreng, and was the address of choice for many visiting shadarim and meshulochim.

She is survived by her husband, Reb Menachem Mendel hakohen sheyichye Aronow and their children; Mrs. Brina Langsam (Crown Heights), Mrs. Brocha Wilhelm (Toronto, CA), Rabbi Yosef Aronow (Kfar Chabad, Israel), Mrs. Esther Rochel Moscowitz (Chicago, IL), Rabbi Zelik Aronow (Florida), and Mrs. Shternie Notik (Chicago, IL) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Riva Teleshevsky (Crown Heights).

The Levaya will take place Monday, and will be passing by 770 at 10:45am.
