All that Rochel Devorah Nechama Bas Sara stood for -Yiddishkeit, Chesed, Middos, Giving of oneself to others-nothing was more important than helping a Yid in need.Baking for the elderly, so when their grandchildren come to visit, the Bubbies should have what to serve. Taking along her children to do acts of chesed-they should learn from an early age to give of themselves.

I met her once briefly at a bas mitzvah. She and her hubby sat at our table. This was after she was diagnosed and after she had the surgeries. I was so intrigued by her positivity, and love for life. She was laughing, and enjoying herself, and making jokes about her brain surgery. What a pleasant person she was even under the circumstances. Sitting with her for that couple of hours made such a difference in my life. Amazing how a person can have such an impact in one’s life even from a 2 hour encounter. I have a huge pain in the heart, a true void, even though I did not know her at all. May Hashem give her family strength.
