Princeton University Set to Install Eruv

As the result of a collaborative effort between members of its Jewish community and school officials, Princeton University has announced it will install an eruv across its campus and throughout other areas of town to accommodate observant Jews.

CentralJersey.com reports that Princeton’s director of community and regional affairs, Kristin S. Appelget, said on Tuesday that the installation of lechies would begin this week and that the entire project should be completed within two to three weeks.

Julie Roth, a Jewish chaplain and executive director of Princeton’s Center for Jewish Life, credited former campus rabbi David Wolkenfeld with first approaching the university with the idea some five years ago, but despite the fact that school officials were on board, there “was no feasible solution found.”

But Wolkenfeld wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer and set about town on foot trying to map out a solution.

Jewish campus chaplain and Chabad Emissary Rabbi Eitan Webb said, “We are proud to be living in a town that values the religious practices of all its inhabitants.”

When will ch wake up and put up a eruv and don’t say the rebbe didn’t want one he always supported having a eruv where people were carrying on shabbos he just didn’t support of frum people using one. Unfortunately many people in ch are carrying and it would only be fit to have one. Most chabad camps and community’s have one and ch should be no different it’s 2015 things change its not like we are changing halacha here. Those that dont want to use it dont need to but dont make evrryone else suffer for your cause. It’s time ch gets some leaders who will help make ch a community it should be.
