Affluent Businessmen and economists, Jews and non Jews of Manhattan’s high society, participated in a salutation evening for Chabad in the center of Manhattan. The shliach, Rabbi Yehoshua Metsger and his wife held their annual dinner in the prestigious Waldorf Astoria hotel.

The central address was delivered by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkoz L’inyonei Chinuch, the organization responsible for sending shluchim all over the world. Rabbi Kotlarsky told the crowd about the great achievements of the Shlichus project, which is an unprecedented phenomenon in the entire Jewish history. Rabbi Berel Lazaar, chief Rabbi of Russia, another speaker at this event, spoke about the revival of the Jewish communities in Russia, where the Jewish spark had been kept intact by the ‘mesirus nefesh’ of Chabadniks who bravely spread yiddishkeit despite the oppression of the Soviet regime. The world famous singer, Reb Mordechai Ben Dovid entertained the crowd with inspiring songs accompanied by a band and orchestra.
