CHYE Event to Help Innovative Entrepreneurs

Dovid is a very creative and passionate young man with an innovative idea for a tech company. He has a supportive partner, a talented team, and a dream. All he’s missing is the money needed to turn his concept into a reality.

Like in Dovid’s case, the number one reason small businesses fail is due to a lack of funds. Now, for the first time ever, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs presents “Fund It” – an event which will take place in Crown Heights with the goal of providing a unique opportunity for talented and innovative people like Dovid to access guidance, mentoring, advice and resources to help them fund their business ideas.

The unprecedented event, a project of Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE), founded by Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, will provide the community with a previously unmet need. Rabbi Werde describes the purpose of the event as an effort “to provide everyone with an opportunity to get their ideas out there and to provide both amateur and seasoned businesspeople with information and resources about funding and launching their startup ideas.”

“This event is the first of its kind in Crown Heights, and we are really excited about the response,” says Rabbi Werde.

The event will provide those who attend with inside information from business leaders, angel investors, lenders, and a state-run program that directs fledgling businesses to alternative lenders, as well as investors like Daniel Wolfson of Oldslip Group – also one of the event’s panelists – who are looking to fund “great people with great ideas.”

Following the panel discussion, event participants will have the opportunity to hear two selected entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas.

Afterward, attendees will have the opportunity to privately pitch ideas for their own startups and will have the opportunity to solicit investments of up to $250,000.

The event is generating excitement because it provides everyone with an equal opportunity. Investors are always on the hunt for original products, innovative businesses ideas, entrepreneurs who can use technology to blaze new paths, as well as companies with great leadership.

So whether you’re a business enthusiast seeking to launch a new product, an aspiring entrepreneur with a great concept who just needs access to funding to bring it to life, or a young professional looking to network with like-minded individuals, this is an event you will not want to miss.

The event is open to everyone, and there will be separate seating for men and women. It will take place this Tuesday night at 7:45 p.m. at Getzel’s Shul, located at 1414 President (entrance on Kingston Avenue). Admission is $10 in advance and $18 at the door.
