Shomrim Members were Gang Assaulted while Settling a Dispute

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A number of Shomrim members responding to a call were ambushed and gang assaulted. The incident took place earlier tonight, Motzoai Shabbos, when Shomrim got the call about a dispute inside 749 Eastern Parkway, members arrived on scene and began sorting out the incident when a large gang converged on the room and trapped the members inside.

As the situation began getting out of hand Shomrim members called for backup and for police assistance. The crowd then started throwing punches and assaulting the members.

More in the Extended Article!

When police officers arrived on scene, they began sorting out who’s who and moving everyone out of the premises. As officers were preparing to leave a second fight broke out where three Bochurim attacked a Shomrim member who went back in to find his glasses and yarmulke, the commotion was heard outside and officers ran back into the building and witnessed a Bochur standing over the member, who was laying on the floor, with a fire extinguisher trying to hit the member with it. Following what the officers had witnessed they arrested the two Bochurim and locked them up, there were no other arrests made.

A number of Shomrim members were treated on scene for scratches and bruises, but were B”H not seriously injured.

The gang of Bochurim, who are known as the ‘Tzfatim’, are notorious for their terror tactics, most recently their assault on a member of the community, Reb Yitzy Vail, a handyman who was doing work for the Gabboim inside 770, was viciously assaulted and his entire tool box stolen. As if that was not enough, the next day they stole his clothing from the Mikva with all his possessions including his wallet and keys, leaving him naked without any means of getting a change of clothes.

Another Mikva goer had pity on him and went to his house and got him a change of clothes. The gang then threatened Reb Vail and told him the only way he will get his possessions back is if he promises not to press charges against them.

These terror tactics were employed here against an Israeli Bochur, whom they tried to evict from his room. The Bochur called family members of his to come help him out when they were assaulted and called Shomrim.

UPDATE: As of 3:00 AM this morning the two Bochurim have been released and given Desk Appearance Tickets.

Shocking! I was hoping we were discussing gentiles. If these individuals don’t listen to any authority- why are they still here? Let them loose on the Arab terrorist attacking their homeland. Once they hurt Jews and will not listen to Rabbonim- there is no reason in my mind why they shouldn’t be deported. The only reason they are here is to learn. They seemed to have learned how to fight- now they can move on and practice it elsewhere.

My how things have changed!

Remember when the tzfatim were honored by CH residents? Remember when they were heroes when they attacked Rabbi Krinsky in shul (only to be saved by Avraham Fried!).

Remember when they cracked open the skull of an elderly gentleman in shul?

Have you witnessed the ongoing embarrassment as they sing and dance whenever they please, disturbing hundreds of daily minyan goers in 770?
As long as the Yeshiva (rabbis Zarchi and Labkowsksy) INVITE Israeli bochurs to come from Israel — things will not change.

In fact, it is said, that they (hanahala) are hiding a note from the Rebbi which instructs them to abolish the Kevutza program!!

They didn’t listen–now these are the results.

What would drive these individuals to attack Shomrim. Obviously, regardelss of the intentioned reason it is utterly despicable – but something drove (even in their own minds) these dudes to ambush Shomrim. What was it?
(Do they think Shomrim will clear out 770 for Merkos?)

On a personal level, I’m worried for my children living in CH., and on a whole for everyone. I am not from CH. although Lubavitch, and it’s hard for me to phatom what’s going on in what used to be a Shechuna imbued with the right haskofos and “V’Ahavto Lreiacha Komocho” Caring, one YID to another. Who should they watch out for? OCH UN VEI!

When I began reading the article my initial thought was that the shomrim were assulted by a gang of goyim. But, I discovered that it was the ‘Tzfatim’. They need to be refered by their correct name. “CHAMASNIKS”. Thy are violence without reason. The hanahalas hayeshiva has the capability of sending them back to Jenin and Ramlah. Call the hanahala. Knock on their doors. Stop donating to their causes. I do not think that either the gaboyim (whoever that may be) nor Yudel have the power or direct authority over these animals.
Have you ever noticed the similarity between the Hizballah flag and the Chamasniks? The two flags are nearly identical.
Get rid of these vermin now!

749 is under the responsibilty of the self appionted vaad of lubavitcher yeshiva (mr gordetzki mr drizin mr drimmer mr zissmen and a few others)who only wanted the position to take the winestock money away from merkos.

they dont really care muh about 749 so they gave it to mendy hendel and yankel chazzan who turend it into a terror training camp

thats where the copier from which all the mishichist propaganda is printed is located thats where chabad info office is and much more

dont forget when they had all thier fights in 770 – the first call was to 749 and all the troops came running.

these are the same ppl that are behaind all the machloikes from the begining (eli cohen who was the court laison for the vaad of the yeshiva was there with mr lipskeir fighting the gabayin case and yankel spirtzer are all part of this team)

Unfortunately it has become a common occurence in CH to have sholombayis issues, violence bein ish l’reihu that the NYPD has to get involved with, we all have to take a serious look because as they say when you cry wolf to often it is hard to get the proper protection you need, not that it makes the latest unresponses excusable. But aggression on this scale needs for each and everyone to look at themselves and say AD Mosai and do one good thing ( sometimes good things are reprimanding ) for another person today and everyday…..as long as it is with kindness

Stop with this hysteria, before we do the whole evil Tzfati /Israeli /Mishechist /770 /Aguch/ terrorist /Lipsker/kill the Jew…… lets get a little perspective,

First off, despite my first hand experience of some Tzvatims extreme capability for violence, to be perfectly honest I sure there’s more to this story considering the source and Shomrims history with this group.

Secondly a Jew is our family a lubavitcer Bocher is our brother- even if there from Israel and although some of the tzvatim and the “bagel shop worker guys” shouldn’t be assisted with living in crown heights, the majority of Israeli Bocherim (and “even” the Mishechist ones) are Eidaleh Chasidihe Bocherim whom we can learn much from.

Now concerning 749 in particular, for as long back as anyone can remember the place has been a complete jungle, where the only way to get a bed is through inheritance or bullying, the reason why this hasn’t been resolved, and that known trouble makers are accepted is definitely because of political considerations on the part of certain members of Hanholah, but I don’t see how Slavin or Shpritzer come into the picture, Lipsker and the Gaboyim would definitely prefer that there not here (they completely disregard there authority) and Eli Cohen made a effort to control 749 for which he was physically attacked by these same Tzvatim.

So before we Slander individuals or groups of people lets put thing into perspective.

#46 Comment By CH Anash On December 30, 2007 @ 12:55 pm

Good try but you’ve got the wrong info. and are only repeating the lies you hear “upstairs”.

The vaad of the Yeshiva (as in Vaad of Merkos) is ultimately responsable but does not have “communist control” over people such as Labkovsky and Zarchi.

Those 2 continue giving every bachur an I-20 AGAINST THE ADVICE OF THE VAAD.

So, take up your politics with them.

#47 Comment By Ilana On December 30, 2007 @ 12:38 pm

Once everyone calms down…
start thinking about how these bochurim are, like it or not, part of our community for the time being, and certainly part of our non-immediate community of Lubavitchers. As such, we have to take some responsibility as fellow community members…making sure either, (yes), these boys are sent back to Israel, or we deal with them properly. I can’t throw names around like the other poster can, but as parents and as community members we need to collectively turn to those in charge and demand they take responsibility on our behalf.

They are Jewish. They are Lubavitch. We need to look at these boys with love, and with concern for THEM as well as us. As PART of us, rather.

Let’s not totally blame one group as a whole. The reason why this happens is very simple. The lack of Ahavas Yisroel on both sides from the top on down. furthermore The gabboyim & the Hanholah bear direct responsibility for not taking control. Those wholift their hands must be thrown out & sent back to where they came from. If they are Residents of the Ch(not Bochurim) they must be told you cannot live here anymore & find another community to live in. All the money that has gone to lawyers & legal fees on both sides Is nothing but Gzailah.Money that has been stolen from Tzedokah & the public etc. It’s time to lay down the rule of law If these gabboyim & the Hanholah can’t due it then bring in someone who can This goes for anyone!!!!

“For my people has committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the Source of living waters, to dig for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold the water.” (Yeremiah 2:13)

I.e. Israel’s actions involve a double indignity: the abandonment of Hashem Per se, and the choice of such an inferior substitute.

I ask…

Why would anybody try to excuse/help/bail/synthesize/ and align them self with this group of thugs/terrorist/hoodlums and bullies etc…?
What is the Agenda?
Why are we letting them take Our Rebbe, OUR Community, OUR Home and OUR Children Hostage?
Why is it that every time someone does finally take action (whether it be Aguch or Shomrim or Just any body) agents these thugs/Terrorist/Hoodlums/Bullies it ends up that they are the ones defending themselves?

[Side note: if anybody out there thinks that what goes on in 770 (with the Tzvatim) has nothing to do with them is making a big mistake, the goal is to get in to your living room.

As I write this there are people (for example: Shemira- Yossi Stern- Yankle Shpritzer/Chanina) that Say they care about this community, These same people are doing all they can to get OUR dear Shomrim who give tooth and nail, Day and night for Our community Locket up in jail. Why aren’t they siding with Use (the community), why are they not siding with OUR Future, Why do they keep voting to destroy OUR community and any thing good in it? [side note: I would like to point out that the shimera in the past and present have had there problems with these same Tzvatim. Why are they now siding with them?Have they seen the light or do they have an agenda?]

I have this to say…
What Can we do to stop this?
(atleast what CaN i do to help the people that are stopping it?)
How do we get ride of the people that are doing this to use?

STOP siding with the Bad guys!

When you say things like “it’s so sad” Why Can’t we all get along“ etc…
It’s like standing over a flat tire and saying Thihlim instead of getting down and dirty to change the tire.
It’s watching a child fall and get hurt and (you) screaming ”Yo vay” instead of helping him out!

Just like its nonsense to say, as alot of the velt unfortunately does, “Lubavitch is crazy look at those mishichisten” when we know it’s only a small and vocal minority –
It’s just as nonsensical to say that all Tzvatim are troublemakers as well. Happens to be many (most probably the majority) are good chassidishe bochurim that want nothing to do with the extremists.

Blanket solutions like “send them all home” won’t solve anything. That yeshiva needs to be more selective.

the oweners of the 749 is that vaad.

as for the vaad of merkos – you see they are taking a stand now with the 770 case (they didnt do it till now to hold back on the chilul hashem but once mr lipskier inserted the gaboyin as a party they are taking it all the way) and now is the opertunity for mr gordetzki and crew to do the same.

everyone knows what they can do about this. those who don’t know what to do, can do Ahavas Yisroel. Others can think sanely and decide what the way is to deal with this. ITS ABOUT THE REBBE don’t any of you see that? These “Tzefatim” are looking for fights because they are dealing with other issues in their lives and they need a good fight once in a while. They can’t possibly believe that this is what the Rebbe wants. Once we all decide that, then we will remember that the Rebbe OFTEN used the term B’DERECH NOAM. This is just the opposite of kavod to the Rebbe. NO MATTER WHAT HOW MUCH THEY NEED TO FIGHT AND STRUGGLE, THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THE REBBE REALLY WANTS. If they cared about the Rebbe, they would not do this!!!!!!!!

It seems like these ‘tzfatim’ are a huge problem.
Despite wild and crazy behavior, it is reprehensible to call Jews ‘taliban, bin laden, terrorists, Arabs – but the most shocking…go back to Palestine? Palestine? (OBL would be proud of that one)

I am not sure what I am more in-shock from.
The actual ordeal last night? Or the obscenities being thrown from Jews to Jews?
We talk like this about our enemies…and sometimes not even.
To “fight fire with fire” is the absolute wrong thing. Where did you learn? in Lubavitch? the Rebbe’s Sichos? Or maybe in college and from some American psychologists?

Things can be thrown at you from all sides, yet it is YOUR DECISION the way to react to what you are given.
The obviouslly incorrect way to act- is what we all see above.
We don’t curse Yidden out. They are brothers.
Yes, they did something horribly wrong. Yes, they are acting immoraly…It is therefore our job to do something about it.
Not to curse and scream. But to HELP.
I am positive that every single person who commented on here- who is “so-to-say-helping” by yelling obscenities, did not do one actual thing to help.
Go get some Mashpia for them.
Go sit down with them and talk…Show them what’s right and wrong.
WHy curse them out?
Why add fuel to the fire?
We aren’t AGAINST eachother…even if the other party seems to be against us.

How do you think the Geulah will come about? By us reacting to such things the way we did?!
(Yes, they need to do their part…but we need to react appropriately.)
We have enought tzuros…enough tragedies…Try to prevent future ones.
All of us!

May we be zoche to hear only good news.

to take a deep breath:

the connection to these ppl and 749 is very simple,

all along when spritzer cohen hendel chazzan and gaboyim to fight the establishment and orginaztions the rebbe put in place they built up and used these tzsfatim and now its turning back on them cuz they cant control the beast they created. so its only a jungel cus the let and are letting it happen – if they want to they could evict them and make it normal

#75 Comment By nissim On December 30, 2007 @ 2:37 pm

I’m a mishichist. I believe VERY strongly that the Rebbe, MH”M wants us to say ‘yechi.’ This is the will of The Messiah.
This violence is horrible and definitley against the will of the Rebbe, MH”M.
Any Jew who gets violent over the possible Aguch win over 770 is foolish and not a real ‘mishichist.’
Raising a hand to another Jew causes you to be called: ‘wicked,’ ‘a rasha.’
I would NEVER raise my hand (I’m strong) against another Jew.
If a mishichist feels this is a terrible event (Aguch winning) he/she should sit down and cry. This is Galus. If Aguch doesn’t fulfill the will of the Rebbe then they’re foolish and are involved with child’s play. I spoke with one well-known Aguch member who said saying ‘yechi’ hurts Lubavitch. I asked him to write up a list of its negative impact and gave him a few weeks. Three weeks later not list.
The reason he thinks its hurting Lubavitch is, since we’re all not saying it, knowing it’s true, we look weak and divided. Therefore the ‘outside’ world (Jews) think the yechinicks are sick or crazy.
Unified we would come across very differently.
A true ‘believer’ and chassid sits down and cries if they really want Moshiach. They don’t hit Jews.
It’s also unproductive and no good will come of it. It only increases anger, hostitlity, hurt and causes angry counter measures.
B R A I N L E S S, H E A R T L E S S!
I usually leave my name. There’s no Mitzvah to bring yourself or your children to any harm.
The troublemakers should be dealt with the way the Rebbes would deal with it.

On May 7, 1931, the most sensational manhunt New York City had ever known had come to it’s climex. After weeks of search, “Two Gun” Crowley—the killer,
the gunman who didn’t smoke or drink—was at bay, trapped in his sweetheart’s apartment on West
End Avenue.

One hundred and fifty policemen and detectives laid siege to his top-floor hideaway. They chopped holes in
the roof; they tried to smoke out Crowley, the “cop killer,” with tear gas. Then they mounted their machine
guns on the surrounding buildings, and for more then an hour one New York’s fine residential areas reverberated with the crack of pistol fire and the rat-tat-tat of machine guns. Crowley, crouching behind an overstuffed chair, fired incessantly at the police. Ten
thousand excited people watched the battle. Nothing like it had ever been seen before on the sidewalks of New York.

When Crowley was captured, Police Commissioner E.P. Mulroney declared that the two-gun desperado was one of the most dangerous criminals ever encountered in the history of New York. “He will kill,“ said
The Commissioner, ”at the drop of a feather.“

But how did ”Two Gun“ Crowley regard himself?
We know, because while the police were firing into his apartment, he wrote a letter addressed ”To whom it
may concern.“ And, as he wrote, the blood flowing from his wounds left a crimson trail on the paper. In
his letter Crowley said:

”Under my coat is a weary
heart, but a kind one—-one that would do nobody any harm.“

A short time before this, Crowley had been having a party with his girl friend on a country road out
on Long Island. Suddenly a policeman walked up to the car and said: ”Let me see your license.

Without saying a word, Crowley drew his gun and cut the policeman down with a shower of lead. As the dying officer fell, Crowley leaped out of the car,
grabbed the officer’s revolver, and fired another bullet into the prostrate body. And that was the killer who said:

“Under my coat is a weary heart, but a kind one—-one that would do nobody any harm.”

[Crowlet was sentenced to the electric chair. When he arrived at the death house in Sing Sing, did he say,
“This is what I get for killing people”? NO, he said: “This is what I get for defending myself.”

The point of the story is this: “Two Gun“ Crowley Didn’t blame himself for anything.

That is the usual attitude amongst criminals!!!]

To add:
Don’t blame the Attacker, blame the victim! Because ”Under ther coat is a weary heart (soul/nishama), but a kind one—-one that would do nobody any harm.“
They mean well, they don’t want to hurt you they really want to hug you. If only you would have enough Love this would not happen. So the next time they slap or bunch you just turn the other cheek and say ”I LOVE YOU“ too, ”L’Chaim“, ”Yechi Hamelech“, ”Moshiach Now!”.

I remember how upset the Rebbe was when a number of bochrim stood outside 770 waiting for the seforim to return rather then sitting learning. And you “Jews for J” say to leave them alone since they are Lubavitcher bochrim. Shame on you all.

Journalism… a sick tool, the sickness is catchy, it is spreading a cancer into an already divided community.
People, ENOUGH, how much more of this do we need? What is going to wake you all up? Another accident? Another death?
Stop publishing things that nothing is going to be done about them. G-d will take care of those that need to be taken care of.
All you are doing is riling people up, and giving them the chance to spew more sickness to more people!

very well put, this article is very important for people to read, not everyone knows what goes on with these tzfati terrorists, these bochurim are responsible for a lot of the politics that exist here in crown heights, and they are also a very bad example for the future generation of lubavitch, kids these days get the wrong impression of what yechi and moshiach mean to chabad lubavitch the way the rebbe taught his chasidim.
these bochurim dont follow the rebbe’s ways, they just do what they see best fit according to their bogus ideas of what the rebbe and moshiach is all about.
they do not represent lubavitch in any way what-so-ever, and people dont know that. the only answer and solution to all this, is to send all these guys to psychologists that will explain to them their problem and help them get over it.
the main thing is that moshiach should come right now and hashem will send every one a refuah shelaima, and we will all see the truth the way it is.

Do we have any leadership? How does a society run without government? How does a ship sail without a captain? How do we expect to have a upright, fine community
, where we can raise a future generation of chassidim when we don’t have leaders whom we automatically turn to, who will lead us on the proper path instead of clutching each others throats and calling each other names?

Think about all the other issues over the past year which racked up a hundred plus comments (except perhaps the matisyahu “issue”) – why don’t we have leaders which represent and can intervene and make decisions on behalf of the entire community? If you haven’t realized yet, take this opportunity so we won’t need another disaster like this and another – we must have leaders which REPRESENT US ALL and are strong enough to make decisions without caving in to the many troublemakers and slanderers in our community.

There will be no hope for crown heights, until we make a council which is voted in by EVERY JEWISH RESIDENT in the area who cares to vote, and with our neighborhood divided into districts, each electing their own representative, to prevent the current custom of electing gangs with the full ranks, as we have been doing until now.

I will graciously admit that I do not know all the background and politics involved in this case, as I do not live in the immediate area, but what I can say, from my outsider’s point of view, is that the comments that are being made in reference to this article are certainly not very kiddishkeit.

How can we, who are taught that deep down, a Jew is a Jew is a Jew is a Jew, talk about our brothers like this? Is this a lesson we want to teach our children? No, I think not.

We may not agree with the way that they do things, but do we agree with the way a reform Jew spends Shabbos? No, we do not, yet we do not jump onto a forum and post that they are retards, that they are sick, that they should be expelled from the area.. we instead try to reach out to them, and turn them towards a better path.

Perhaps it should be so with this as well, and failing that, then, and only then, should we seek to have these people legally deported to their country of origin.

It makes me terribly sad to hear these types of things from our community.. it’s shameful.

The problem here is that there is an element of the Crown Heights Jewish society that is physically threatening the lives of people. Regardless of whether or not they say Yechi, where they are from, etc, etc,..WE CAN NOT simply blame ourselves for not being loving, non judgemental of them, etc. We need to feel safe on our streets, in our mikvehs, etc. I for one DO NOT say Yechi and I dont want my family, my children attacked for it.

If the leadership simply sit back, hang out and get caught up in this “I love you…lets have you criminals over for shabbos dinner” game, then they should be worthy OF BEING BOOTED OUT OF THEIR JOBS AND held accountable as accessories to these crimes.

As far as comparing this incident to reaching to reform Jews, etc…THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT MOST REFORM JEWS WOULD NOT DO WHAT THESE GANGSTERS DO.

Okay all! Let’s get hyped up and sweaty! Down with shomrim! Expel the taliban!

Let’s post a thousand comments about who we like and hate, and who’s right and wrong on all the Chabad websites and whoever else has the scoop.

Of course all of our comments are drastically going to affect the turnout of the situation. (sarcasm intended.) Maybe if we write how much we hate tzfatim or how much we hate shomrim something will actually happen to them!!!

Sorry Buster.

There are the people who respect the work of the Shomrim, and heard a story about bochurim throwing benches, and are bothered by it and want peace.

There are also people who respect the ideals of the mishichistin, and heard stories about Lubavitchers who are not so chassidish that pick fights. And of course they want tolerance for the tzfatim.

Both of these groups visit both of the websites, read both versions of the story, claim that the other is biased, wrong and full of hate, and post comments of insult and anger that are generally futile except for rousing public fury.

So before you post your own comment, realize that it’s as futile as the rest, and you’re only satisfying your own lust for revenge against whichever one of the involved groups that your resent.

This is a powerful story because when the “Tzfatim” came on my mitzvah tank this Chanukah and wanted to settle a dispute with 14 year old OT Mesivta boys who pirated a yellow flag door to door while in motion on 5th Avenue.

I wanted to have them arrested after being warned to step off my RV.

However Shomrim came running asking me not to have them given over to goyim! I claimed that they had the freedom to leave before the police arrive.

Shomrim really care for them as Jew to Jew, but now the matter is taken to the next stage.

They are a dangerous terrorist lot .They have no leaders to guide them and are harmful-(not just a menace) to society . Aguch must employ all their political influence and connections to force these people out of the USA and blacklist them . The famous Tzfat Moshiachist Rosh Yeshiva must be reprimanded and a formal band (Cheirem )should be placed on these undesirable characters. They only perform these acts of violence ,because they are not accountable to anyone We are to blame for not ousting them out of our midst.

points to ponder:
A: theses tzfatim say and believe with every bone in their bodies that the rebbe is physically with us, now if the rebbe was truly standing in 770 why are they throwing benches? why are they beating up shomrim next door to 770?

B: All of you commentators are being complete oximorons you say how can you call tzfatim hamas and terrorists

C: you talk about ahavas yisroel being th ekey to bringing moshiach, so why dont you go out on mivtzoim or go learn or daven instead of wasting time

D: instead of cursing each other go say tehillim here are a few names to have in mind Ilana leah bas shaindel rochel
Chaya Mushka Bas Mattel
Chaim shumel Ben Ilana

I rest my case!!!!!!!

How sad it is that we’re cursing out fellow Yidden!
No matter what the situation, don’t go and call a Jew a terrorist!

to MK

define to me what a terrorist is :

is it not someone who terrorizes other people ?

then what makes a group of people who terrorize other jews not terrorists?

is it because they are jews?

has in the history of judaism never been a group of jews who were terrorists

i think there were and is

Will you people stop picking
on the Tzfatim! This is not
fair. Just because a few make
a Chillul HaShem, does that mean
they’re ALL like that?

I mean, would it be fair to castigate
all of Lubavitch for the Chillul HaShem

Oy, Ribono Shel Olam, Selach Lanu.

Wilshansky is just having a great EGO trip.

He creates and multiplies these storm troopers. I don’t care if he is a lamdon and incorporates Sichos in every shiur. The fact is … ship them out of the country.

And yes they are terrorists. Why can’t we simple Lubavitchers feel at home in 770? (I have to hold myself from using Nivel Peh when I think about it)

Just send them to the Israeli Army.
Anyways many of them are in Crown Heights to avoid service.

It is very upsetting to come to 770 and see all these morons.

A Skverer bucher from Williamsburg told me that when he came to visit 770 they tried to make him say Yechi.

What a great way to spread Darkei Hachassidus.

It is simply embarrassing. I don’t crae that Yudl is old, just bring the NYPD in and pull down those stupid signs.

Perhaps then more normal people will daven in 770.

WE as a community need to evict all the tzfatim from 1414 President Street in the confines of the 71st Precinct and 749 Eastern Parkway in the confines of the 77th Precinct.

Skbol need to be kicked out of the NYPD Auxiliary forces cause he is not here to protect us he is a convicted racist who steal from the community with his fake organization “shmira”, which need to be disband all of them arrested.
