Pittsburgh Celebrates Lag B’Omer In Famous “Blue Slide Park”

On Friday afternoon of Lag Baomer, Lubavitch Center of Pittsburgh, under the leadership of Rabbi Yisroel Rosenfeld, organized a fun-filled family event at the famous “Blue Slide Park” in Squirrel Hill.

While a heavy down pour of rain and high winds started around an hour before the event, as the event began, the clouds cleared and a beautiful sun filled the sky.

The men danced joyously to live music and the children had a lively Tzivos Hashem rally, led by R’ Mendel “Der Baal Menagen” Markel and Rabbi Chaim Itkin.

The children recited the twelve psukim, the Rebbe’s Kapitel and a special Kapitel for Meron and they heard all about Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, Rabbi Akiva and the importance of Ahavas Yisroel. Rabbi Rosenfeld also gave over memories and reflections from Lag Baomer by The Rebbe.

The children were treated to popcorn, cotton candy, popsicles, nosh, a grand raffle and a special juggling show by Rabbi Aharon Herman.

The organizers were assisted by the Temimim of Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh, who set the event up in the pouring rain and worked tirelessly throughout the event to add chayus and keep everything running.
