JEM: A Tribute To Lord Jonathan Sacks OBM

JEMcentral.org

The Jewish world is saddened by the passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain and the Commonwealth.

In addition to his leadership of British Jewry, Rabbi Sacks was a noted Jewish philosopher, orator and author, famous as a stalwart defender and exponent of authentic Torah Judaism. A regular on the BBC and other international platforms, Rabbi Sacks brought a clear, unflinching, articulation of the Jewish approach to many matters of universal concern. His works of Torah scholarship and moral philosophy continue to inspire and influence individuals and communities around the world. “Torah Studies,” written by Rabbi Sacks and published by Kehot Publication Society, features essays on the Torah portions as adapted from the readings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

On many an occasion, Rabbi Sacks shared the stories of how he consulted with the Rebbe at pivotal points in his life, and how the Rebbe’s advice guided his path forward.

May his memory be for a blessing.
