by CrownHeights.info

The question on each and every parents mind is the same. Will there be overnight camp this year? The answer is still we don’t know, but there are some hopeful signs.

Rabbi Yossie Futerfas, director of Camp Gan Yisroel Parksville, has released a letter notifying parents of a positive step towards opening of the camp this summer.

“The Health Department has notified camp that they will be sending out permit applications.” Rabbi Futerfas wrote. “They will be issuing permits for this coming summer.”

Still, all is not yet go, as camps will still have to adhere to the local municipality guidelines.

“I have not received those guidelines yet and until I know what they are I am unable to officially confirm the start date.”

Rabbi Futerfas confirmed that the camp will not charge any parents money until a start date is confirmed.

“There are many directors of camps upstate and in general around the country that are working with government officials to make camp possible. I hope to share good news with you all soon.”

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a good Yom Tov and you are all well. I want to update you regarding this coming summer. The Health Department has notified camp that they will be sending out permit applications. They will be issuing permits for this coming summer. However camps will still have to adhere to the local municipality guidelines. I have not received those guidelines yet and until I know what they are I am unable to officially confirm the start date.

Camp will not be running any charges on your credit cards or depositing your head checks until I have a confirmed start date. There are many directors of camps upstate and in general around the country that are working with government officials to make camp possible.

I hope to share good news with you all soon.

Rabbi Yossie Futerfas
