by CrownHeights.info

In another event effected by the rapid spread of the Coronavirus, the International Chidon Learning Retreat, a Halacha Chidon for high school girls, has been postponed until further notice.

“While we have spent many months planning the program for our incredible Chidon learning retreat and we were so looking forward to meeting all of you there,” the organizers wrote in an email. “The recent spreading of the Coronavirus has made us concerned about our students getting infected and infecting other family and community members back at home.”

While the retreat itself is no longer taking place, a virtual Chidon competition, which was scheduled for Sunday, the 4th of Nissan – March 26th, will continue as planned.

While we have spent many months planning the program for our incredible Chidon learning retreat and we were so looking forward to meeting all of you there, the recent spreading of the Coronavirus has made us concerned about our students getting infected and infecting other family and community members back at home.

We have consulted with doctors and Rabbanim who have advised us not to go through with the retreat as planned, due to the concern of spreading the virus. We very regretfully will have to postpone the retreat until further notice.

We will still be arranging a virtual Chidon competition, which will take place as planned on Sunday, 4 Nissan – March 26. The top 3 winners in the online Chidon competition will receive their prizes by mail.

We are committed to doing everything we can to make this shift as convenient as possible, under the circumstances. If there is anyone who already booked a ticket for the Chidon and is unable to get a refund from their airline, we are offering to give a partial reimbursement for the flight. Please contact us for more information.

More details about the online Chidon competition and your final average scores will be coming soon after Purim.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Wishing you all a very happy Purim and may we only share good news!

Sincerely,

Hadassah Shemtov, Director
Chaya Zeitlin, Chidon Coordinator
Malka Solomon, Administrator
