Kinnus Torah and Siyum Maseches at Moscow’s Central Shul

It was an impressive event in honor of the Torah and chassidus that was celebrated on Isru Chag of Zman Matan Torah. A Kinnus Torah in the main sanctuary of the central Marina Roscha shul, under the leadership of Russia’s Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Berel Lazar. It included a siyum on Maseches Sukka and beginning of Maseches Rosh Hashana by the “community daf” of Moscow.

The event was emceed by the general director of the Jewish community center, shliach Rabbi Mordechai Weisberg. He invited the shliach Rabbi Dan haKohen Lokshin, one of the Rosh Yeshivas of Moscow’s Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim, who gave a fascinating pilpul on the topic of Yom Tov Sheini shel Galuyos.

The actual siyum was recited by the dedicated Rosh Kolel and head of the Kashrus Department Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Marzel.

The new Maseches, Rosh Hashana, was begun by the Chief Rabbi of Russia Rabbi Berel Lazar, who, for the past thirteen years has begun a new Maseches yearly and has successfully gathered many devoted men who come every single morning for the daily shiur in the “community daf” at the bustling central shul in Marina Roscha.

The siyum continued into a Chassidishe farbrengen and seudas mitzvah on the beautiful summer veranda of the Marina Roscha Jewish Community Center. A gift of appreciation was presented to Rabbi Marzel in the name of all his students.
