Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo Lights the Menorah in Dizengoff Square

Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo Ron Huldai inaugurated the renewed Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv by lighting the fourth Chanukah candle of the central Chabad Chanukah Menorah. He lit the Menorah together with Rabbi Joseph Gerlitzky, the Lubavitcher  Rebbe’s emissary to the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo. Despite the inclement weather, .hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the Menorah lighting.

The mayor was honored with the lighting, and sang “Hanerot Halalu” with great enthusiasm. In his welcoming remarks, the mayor said that lighting of the menorah symbolizes the determination of the Jewish people to preserve the tradition and its eternal values. He concluded saying that he salutes the Rebbe and the Chabad emissaries who continue to shine in Tel Aviv and throughout the world.

The chanukah lighting takes place each day of the eight days of Chanukah at Dizengoff Squre at 7:00 PM
