California Chabad House Sued over Kapporos

Chabad of Irvine, California, has been sued in federal court by animal rights activists over the annual Kapporos ritual performed at the center.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles on Thursday, alleges illegal business practices in violation of the state’s unfair competition law. United Poultry Concerns, a nonprofit organization based in Machipongo, Virginia, is seeking a temporary restraining order before Yom Kippur next week.

A similar lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge last year.

Jewish leaders maintain that the slaughter of the chickens is done in a humane fashion. They have described opposition to Kapporat as coming from extreme animal-rights groups attempting to trample on religious rights and expression.

but this is California–what else do you expect?
they tried to ban the bris, they have a bond issue to require all organizations such as houses of worship to build third gender bathrooms even if the religious organization opposes it

I would have those people followed, to make sure that they are eating 100 percent VEGAN before they think that they can mess with this. that is not fully the point, but one point is that they are looking to be righteous or self-righteous and they arent true to themselves often

They’re of course hypocrites because they don’t complain about Muslim cruel torture of dogs.

But in any event, even though PETA are hypocrites, Kaparot should be done with money so that we are always a Light onto the Nations, in current world, and animal sacrifices Karbanos were abolished after Churban Bayis, chicken Shlugging should wait till Moshiach. Money instead.
