Radio Talk Show Host Tells Story of Previous Rebbe

Nationally syndicated conservative talk show host Michael Savage spent several minutes of his daily radio broadcast to tell a story of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe and his father, the Rebbe Rashab.

The story, told by the Previous Rebbe in his memoirs, recounts an incident from his youth when he absent-mindedly tore a leaf off a tree while walking alongside his father.

Savage’s comments on the Frierdiker Rebbe’s story begin around the 1:26:00 mark in the audio clip below.

This is not the first time Savage invoked the Previous Rebbe as a source of inspiration in his show. In November of 2013, Savage spent several minutes relating the story of the Previous Rebbe’s fight against the communist regime in Russia, and his ultimate triumph against them.

  • Don't have your kids listen to this without supervision

As good as this instance is–of Mr. Savage giving over the story of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Rebbe Rashab–PLEASE be careful and don’t just let your kids listen to this recorded show.

Mr. Savage’s style includes free use of vulgarity and discussion of absolutely Frum-inappropriate material.

SO: Supervise your kids every second, if you decide to have them hear this excerpt.

CH.INFO: It would be absolutely better to just excerpt the story, rather than uploading the recording of the entire day’s broadcast, PLEASE!

  • Loved this podcast

Amazing story telling of the Frierdicher Rebbe with his father the Rebbe Rashab. Wove it into current events so seamlessly.

  • Astonishing!!!

#1-I agree that it’s not a great idea to get your kids hooked on Michael Savage for the reasons you wrote. But, didn’t you all find this AMAZING!!!!!!??? Talking about Chassidus, the Rebbeim, Divine Providence, etc. etc., on a syndicated talk show that hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of people listen to every day. And saying that maybe he’ll start saying “mystical” things every day in his broadcasts. Is this not over the top? MOSHIACH, MOSHIACH, MOSHIACH, ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ya.

  • Cynic

If your child is old enough to go online without supervision and old enough and mature enough to click on the audio, then I dont see a problem with the content from Michael Savage. How long do you think you can shelter your child? At a certain age I believe its inappropriate to hide the reality of the world we live in. Does more harm than good. Educate them on the reality and then educate them how to change it, or at least be above it. It’s coming either way…

    • I disagree

Why put a stumbling block before the blind? Who among us is so strong that the opposite of holiness in the world won’t affect us.
