Up-and-Coming Chabad Community Marks 3 Tammuz

The fast-growing Lubavitch Community of Walnut Creek, located in Hollywood, Florida, held a special Shabbaton in Honor of Gimmel Tammuz, with the attendance of guest speaker Rabbi Rabbi Velvel Lipsker.

The Community, which is a beautiful blend of Chabad house Baalei Batim and Anash, is growing into a unique place under the Guidance of local Shliach and Rov Rabbi Zalman Korf.

The community decided that in honor of Gimmel Tammuz, it was appropriate to put together the programming so that everyone could participate and be inspired on this special Shabbos.

Renowned lecturer and educator Rabbi Velvel Lipsker came to spend Shabbos with the community.

Rabbi Lipsker – who is known for his personable and warm style – combined with the ability to simplify the deepest ideas in chassidus, spent the Shabbos with all the various segments of this remarkable Kehilla.

Shabbos morning, the men attended a special shiur in the Mamer “Ve’atoh Tetzaveh” – the last Mamer the Rebbe distributed before his stroke in Adar of 5752.

Rabbi Lipsker delivered the regular sermon before Mussaf, explaining the ideas of Rebbe and Hiskashrus in a way that was understandable to the Balei Batim, and at the same time brought a fresh prospective to the members of Anash.

The community spent all afternoon farbrenging together – in discussion on how we transmit hiskashrus to our children.

The women gathered in the home of Mrs. Rivka Cohen for a special women’s farbrengen.

Mincha was followed by a Seder Nigunnim – singing and connecting to the Nigunnim the Rebbe had taught us over the years.

Mariv was followed by the viewing of the special edition of the “Living Torah,” prepared by JEM in honor of this auspicious day.

Said Rabbi Zalman Korf: “I take special satisfaction in the way our community comes together to commemorate the Rebbe’s day. I am sure that the Ahavas Yisroel of the Jewish community of Walnut Creek brings the Rebbe Much Nachas, and surely hastens moshiach’s coming – may it be speedily in our day!”
