Chabad Plans Massive Election Day Tefilin Campaign

While Israel prepares for elections for 20th Knesset, Tze’ieri Agudas Chabad in Eretz Yisrael is planning in a different sense – with a major nationwide Tefilin campaign.

“Chabad is going to the polls” the advertisements read, but they don’t mention a political party; instead they send a message to shluchim and chassidim nationwide, to use the voting day to put tefilin on men heading to election polls to vote.

Tzach plans to set up tefilin booths outside many voting stations around the country in the hope of getting thousands to fulfill the mitzvah on voting day.

Organizers explain this is wonderful opportunity to increase ahavas yisrael and bring a Torah message to so many who otherwise lack a religious component in their lives.
