City Hall Officials Discuss Security with Oholei Torah

With the ongoing goal of improving the security and safety of the 1,850 students of Oholei Torah and their teachers, a meeting was arranged between the City Hall Community Affairs Department and the administration of Oholei Torah, the Flagship school of Chabad Lubavitch.

Mr. Marco A. Carrion, Commissioner of the Community Affairs Unit, was joined by Senior Community Liaison Mr. Pinny Ringel as they toured the facilities and heard various concerns and issues at hand from Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director, and Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean.

R’ Tzvi Rosenfeld of the building management, who arranged the meeting, spoke of the extra security precautions that have recently been put in place, and implored upon the commissioner to do his utmost for the wellbeing of the students.

Other members of the administration in attendance included Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director, and R’ Shalom Ber Rabkin, a Member of the Board.

During the course of the meeting, Mr. Ringel recalled how his family lived in Crown Heights and for a time he himself was a student in Oholei Torah. Mr. Carrion expressed his appreciation for getting to know the community schools’ needs, and committed to deal with matters that were brought to the table.

Let all the worried parents who have no one to speak up to, calm themselves. Knowledge is.power. let them know that you’re not in denial about what is going on and exactly what steps you’re taking to improve security. Thanks
