Bein Hazmanim Yeshiva in London

Over fifteen Bochurim got together this summer to fulfill the directive of the Rebbe to never take a vacation from learning Torah, by establishing a Yeshivas Kayitz in London.

Beginning Tisha B’av until Rosh Chodesh Elul under the direction of Rabbi Chaim Rapaport Shlit”a. the learning began with Chassidus at 8:00am ending with Maariv at 10:00pm.

The Yeshivas Kayitz was fortunate to have an outstanding Iyun Shiur given every day by Rabbi Rapaport himself. The gemora learnt was on the sugya of kidush b’mokom seuda and went from gemora – rashbam – tosafas right down until halocha l’maasa from todays acharoinim.

Other Magidei shiur included Rabbi Leibish Heller from the Lubavitch Yeshiva Gedolah in London and Rabbi Y. D. Klien from Kolel Chodosh in Manchester.

A shiur on a sicha of the Rebbe was also given at night by Rabbi Rapaport on the concept of shmira of a mezuza. There was also a two hour lunch for recreational activities, when the bochurim played tennis, football and table tennis. In the words of one of the Bochurim; “it would have been very hard to go through the whole summer without the envoiroment of a yeshiva, I am very grateful to the organizers for the most geshmake summer I have ever had.”
