Unity Bas Mitzvah at Chabad of Marina del Rey

Chabad of Marina del Rey, California, recently celebrated a beautiful occasion. Six Jewish girls came together with the help of Chabad of Marina’s Bas Mitzvah Club to hold a joint Bas Mitzvah for all of the girls and their families. As the girls all come from a variety of Jewish backgrounds, it was a great chance for the girls to instill Jewish pride in themselves, and learn more about themselves and what it means to be a bas Yisrael.

Historic ‘Jewish Graduation’ Takes Place at UCLA

Yesterday, Thursday, June 9th a historic event took place at the University of California Los Angeles, one of the most prestigious universities in the United States.  The school made special accommodations for 79 graduating students and provided an early departmental graduation in deference to their observance of Shabbos and Shavuos. Thanks to this accommodation, these students (and families and guests) were able to participate in graduation ceremonies.

CTeens Volunteer to Help Underprivileged Students

With graduation bells ringing and the scholastic year ending, the Chabad Teen Network of Hunterdon County, NJ, celebrated with an End-of-Year Volunteer Day. Partnering with another local youth organization, the Hunterdon Youth Coalition, the young leaders spent their Sunday afternoon decorating beautiful collection boxes for United Way’s “Tools for Schools” project.

An Exciting Surprise Awaited the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who came to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, sent a virtual prayer note through the “Western Wall” display shown at the new educational exhibition in front of the Kremlin in central Moscow.
