Ribbon Cut to New Replica of 770

With tremendous pride and jubilation, a crowd of over 350 people gathered together to witness the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the New Chabad Jewish Center in Tacoma, Washington. The New Chabad Center, run by Rabbi Zalman and Miriam Heber, is a replica of 770 – Lubavitch World Headquarters.

I Don’t Fly on Shabbos

Walter Sobchak described his Sabbath observance in the Coen brothers’ classic The Big Lebowski by saying, “I don’t roll on Shabbos.” I’m not much of a bowler, but I don’t roll on Shabbos, either, and neither do I fly. This became a problem on Friday afternoon when trying to return home from meetings in Boston for Shabbat with my family. The captain announced over the loudspeaker: “Ladies and gentlemen, there are funnel clouds in D.C. The airports will not open until 9 p.m.”

An Ambitious Expansion Project in West Boca

Having recently purchased $900,000 worth of land, Chabad-Lubavitch of West Boca Raton is setting out to build a permanent home in Palm Beach County.

Some 240 guests participated in the Friendship Circle of Illinois’ 6th annual evening of inspiration, honoring volunteers and supporters. During the school year, teen volunteers provided ongoing visits and ‘friendship’ to children with special needs and their families.
