Video: A Dozen Cops Lift Cab Off Pedestrian

They’re the Finest, and they may be the strongest, too. About a dozen cops lifted a taxi off a pedestrian who was run over early yesterday morning in the South Bronx.

A video that captured the feat of strength showed the unidentified victim pinned under the sedan.

So the quick-thinking cops surrounded the car at East 138th Street and Brown Place, flexed their muscles and lifted the vehicle several times until EMS workers were able to pull the man away shortly after 2:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Cops were also investigating an early-morning accident in Brooklyn in which an SUV jumped a curb and injured a woman.

The 55-year-old pedestrian was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition after a Ford Explorer sped across a bus stop where she was standing on Louisiana Avenue, police said.

Thank you CH info for giving credit to the NYPD, and not just reporting the negative.

The police in some other communities are generally of a better quality than those assigned to CH. I think that they were actually doing their job, which is, I suppose, a shock to the well meant but naive commenters here who are not used to that. I hate to burst your bubble, but contrary to all the above comments, the above article does not make the CH situation better than it was before or make us forget recent events involving the police. In a recent story posted here, CH.info was falling over itself with gratitude that police were kind enough to assign ‘criminal mischief’ to some thugs who threteningly approached a fellow Jew’s car, damaging it while he was in it and trying to get at him. The correct charge was actually ‘assault’ (if they had managed to touch the victim G”f it would have been ‘assault and battery’). Those are the correct legal terms. However, the police do not want to show ‘assault’ against a Jew in their files so they got out of it by preying on your ignorance thereby making fools of you, the law, and themselves. So while you’re running around saving the world, it wouldn’t hurt to know exactly what you are saving people from, and even be able to be a source of some guidance to them. You don’t need a PHD to be an informed mind. You can go to the library and read a few chapters on Tortes (the legal term for Damages) and you’ll know the difference between assault, battery and ‘mischief’. Even the Torah sometimes refers us to ‘the law of the land’. Knowledge is Power.

The overwhelming majority of cops are upstanding people who do an outstanding job. But it’s the small minority of cops who are bad apples who get most of the publicity.
