At around 10:50 this morning an 86 year old man was struck by a 15 passenger van at the intersection of Empire Blvd and Kingston Ave. Apparently the elderly man began crossing the street when the pedestrian signal was red and the large van could not stop. The force of the impact took the man across the entire intersection.

Hatzalah was called but a FDNY EMS ambulance that was passing had seen the incident take place stopped to provide medical assistance.

The man, 86 year old Aron Feldman, was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. CrownHeights.info has been contacted by R. Avrohom Leider director of “Ahavas Chesed” in request to help find a family member. The man speaks English, Yiddish and Russian. Anyone with information is requested to call R. Leider at (917) 852-5555

What’s the matter with YOU? These were tragic accidents, and Hashem Yishmor!
Are you trying to say something with that red means stop comment?

We are living in scary times, must take all normal and natural precautions, and pray that Hashem watches and protects all of us.

what is up lately? there has been another car accident everyday!!! ppl strt watching when your driving!!!

Unfortunately, we frum yidden tend to ignore the world, and there is a higher rate of accidents (especially burns) in our circles than in pretty much any other circles. Let’s keep an eye on our kids, my friends! This is serious stuff.

  • -girl killed-

As a bus driver I see that 95% of people don’t respect the Red flasshing lights on the bus ( Yidden and Goyim alike).

People think if they can get away with it (if no police are around) then it’s O.K.
People most understand that it’s about safty (and not just another law).

This girl was killed b/c someone ran throw a red flasshing light.
The man that was hit today ran when his light was red.

I was thoght that "wait a minute and you"ll live many more minutes".

[I watch from my bus how many kids try to run the red light. I see it alot on the corner of E.P. and Brooklyn (by O.T.) when I tell the kids that what they are doing is wrong and dangers, they look at me with a "OK….Duh".

    That what I mean by:
    "RED MEANS- STOP
    GREEN MEANS- GO"

I have been yelled at and beeped at when I come to a full stop behind a school bus!
People are totally inconsiderate and don’t have the patience – where’s the rush?!? What if it were YOUR child, niece, grandchild, etc?

  • get it right

YES, THE ACCIDENTS ARE TERRIBLE. I THINK WE SHOULD START SAYING TFILAS HADERECH WHEN WE WALK OUT OF OUR HOMES AND WHEN WE DRIVE.
THE CHITAS PUSHKA AND MEZUZA IS A GOOD REMINDER.

  • excellent saying

Better waste a minute of your life (waiting 4 the light)
Then waste your life in a minute (Ch"v)

  • Keep it up

You are doing the right thing,
    keep it up.
    Let them beep.

By the way, you most stop ONLY when the RED FLASHSING lights on TOP of the bus is on.
Some drivers will put on the YELLOW lights before they stop, if it is safe they will not put on the RED FLASHING lights, but instead put there HAZERTS.
    Just Proceed with caution .

Everybody should have a happy, healthy and SAFE summer.

It’s going to be a long, hot summer. Start acting responsibly, drive carefully, and watch your kids. School’s over & kids play on the streets. Let the Schorrim have the bikes, ipods, whatever.

Your kids can’t be replaced…stuff can.
