    Its not boot camp. Its to make sure kids take care of them self even when parents aren’t around.

    Treat the kids with respect and show by example and they will be exemplary children.

    FYI, If kids look unhappy and it’s camp, parents should insist on immediate changes.This counselor is making the boys miserable. Camp should be fun. Getting ready for shabbos should also be fun. Parents do something now. This video is a warning.

      I have my child in camp and happen to know the head counselors (and the one featured in the video). They are giving my son the time of his life, chassidishkeit, instilling values and caring for him bigashmius ubiruchnius!

  • A little fear allows a ton of fun!

    With probably near 500 campers there has to be someone that the campers fear. FEAR! Otherwise the will be chaos. Would you prefer chaos for your children?

    I’ve been there – it is (for the most part) harmless and efficient, in my experience. A young counselor in a bunk needs the backing of a strong HC.

    And by the way, boot camp is the model CGI overnight camps follow. I was a camper for five years and I never felt “miserable”. Trouble-makers feel “miserable”. I had great counselors and I kept my distance from the HCs – which is the whole point!

    Looking back, the summers with the scariest Head Counselors were the funnest summers.

    Ovadia Goldman was scary and it was a fantastic summer. Elkana Shmotkin was scary and we had a fabulous summer.

    And so it goes… gut shabbos.
