Video: Apple Peeling Shortcut

Just in time for Pesach, a YouTube video has gone viral which depicts a chef using an innovative technique to peel apples in under three seconds each. There is no word yet on whether this works for potatoes too.

Update: Looks like the general idea works with potatoes as well.

How does he keep the apples from turning brown and thus becoming very unatractive and for many unedable. What a waste of good food. As for potatoes, they are impossible to do anything with them as they lack taste and are very unhealthy.

    • hello?

maybe he plans to use them, right then and there? like in a fruit salad?

just relax sir, everything is ok…

Useing a drill with potatoes will be a bit of a problem. Since they aren’t always round like an apple.

  • Just wondering

If the peeler blade touches the drill bit does when get electric shock?

  • Potato peeling expert

A apple has a core which makes it easier to stick the bit into but a potato is solid and sticking the flat bit into it will split the potato.
Plus who want to find a shortcut when peeling keeps the kids busy and out of the way for a week.

  • Tomato Peeler

It works on apples but I tried it on tomatoes – it did not work! Tomatoes all over my ceiling, floors and walls!

#5 Is that bit a bout Pesach and the peel Pesach reality or some person’s individual practice that everyone adopted to prove how machmir there were even though it was not really in the spirit of things just like the stick justification for Gefilite fish and if fish why not chicken????

Hmnn, I wonder if this technique would work for an ultra-chassidic baldy haircut.

Works great on grapes and tomatoes!
Also works great on ‘spin drying’ the romaine lettuce!
(Never thought of that one Huh kiddies?!)
Helpful hint: Try to make sure that your mother in law is sitting down at the table when you do this.
She’ll just say, “Nu? The nebach went mishiga!”
