Video: “Shhh… Don’t Report Frum Child Abuse”

Jewish Community Watch, a child-abuse advocacy group, held a landmark seminar directed toward addressing abuse issues within the Jewish community.

The event featured a variety of experts from a range of fields. Rav Tauber, a world-renowned Rav, Dayan and Rabbi, lectured and provided insight into Jewish legal and halachic perspective. He loudly proclaimed that any rabbi that assists a predator is equivalent to having committed the crime himself.

Benny Forer, a veteran criminal prosecutor, discussed legal issues pertaining to CSA and explained the reasons why there is a life-time registration requirement for offenders.

Dennis Brown, Executive Director of the Ness Counseling Center, provided insight into the mind of a predator and his motivations.

Meyer Seewald, Director of JCW, recounted his story and reasons for creating the organization.

Jewish Community Watch is an organization dedicated toward the eradication of child abuse within the orthodox Jewish community. As a victim advocacy group and community awareness center, JCW provides information to community members relating to accused predators as well as providing training and resources for survivors and their families.

    i dont think he did everything 100% he is young and not mature and not part of the community but this is what happens when nobody else does anything so we have nobody to blame but ourselves

    lets not debate it every time,

    bottom line is we need to stop the cycle of abuse

    This “missing link” in all systems of education known to civilization today, may be found in the failure of educational institutions to teach their students HOW TO ORGANIZE AND USE KNOWLEDGE AFTER THEY ACQUIRE IT.

    Many people make the mistake of assuming that,

    because Henry Ford had but little “schooling,” he is not a man of “education.” Those who make this mistake do not know Henry Ford, nor do they understand the real meaning of the word “educate.” That word is derived from the Latin word “educo,” meaning to educe, to draw out, to DEVELOP FROM WITHIN.

    An educated man is not, necessarily, one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge. An educated man is one who has so developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others. Henry Ford comes well within the meaning of this definition.

    During the world war, a Chicago newspaper published certain editorials in which, among other statements, Henry Ford was called “an ignorant pacifist.” Mr. Ford objected to the statements, and brought suit against the paper for libeling him. When the suit was tried in the Courts, the attorneys for the paper pleaded justification, and placed Mr. Ford, himself, on the witness stand, for the purpose of proving to the jury that he was ignorant. The attorneys asked Mr. Ford a great variety of questions, all of them intended to prove, by his own evidence, that, while he might possess considerable specialized knowledge pertaining to the manufacture of automobiles, he was, in the main, ignorant.

    Mr. Ford was plied with such questions as the following:

    “Who was Benedict Arnold?” and “How many soldiers did the British send over to America to put down the Rebellion of 1776?” In answer to the last question, Mr. Ford replied, “I do not know the exact number of soldiers the British sent over, but I have heard that it was a considerably larger number than ever went back.”

    NOW FOR THE MAIN PART!!

    Finally, Mr. Ford became tired of this line of questioning, and in reply to a particularly offensive question, he leaned over, pointed his finger at the lawyer who had asked the question, and said, “If I should really WANT to answer the foolish question you have just asked, or any of the other questions you have been asking me, let me remind you that I have a row of electric push-buttons on my desk, and by pushing the right button, I can summon to my aid men who can answer ANY question I desire to ask concerning the business to which I am devoting most of my efforts. Now, will you kindly tell me, WHY I should clutter up my mind with general knowledge, for the purpose of being able to answer questions, when I have men around me who can supply any knowledge I require?”

    There certainly was good logic to that reply.

    That answer floored the lawyer. Every person in the courtroom realized it was the answer, not of an ignorant man, but of a man of EDUCATION. Any man is educated who knows where to get knowledge when he needs it, and how to organize that knowledge into definite plans of action. Through the assistance of his “Master Mind” group, Henry Ford had at his command all the specialized knowledge he needed to enable him to become one of the wealthiest men in America. It was not essential that he have this knowledge in his own mind. Surely no person who has sufficient inclination and intelligence

    And you all know it!!! JCW is trying to prevent it. Fellow Lubavitchers, why then is the room empty? Where were all of you? This is such an important cause yet so many empty seats!!!

    And for the “taaneh” that pple have been wrongfully labeled molesters, well then, there’s always gonna be some mistakes because no system is perfect.

    Meyer has been doing jcw for quite sometime. So far I’ve heard nothing but complaints about his character or standing in the community. Then why haven’t all the skeptics made an organization of their own, with their own leaders that they approve of?
    To date Meyer has been the only one with guts to do whats right where everyone has failed. If you don’t like it make your own organization or demand that your leaders step up and do something. Until that happens let Meyer and everyone behind this organization keep our community safe!

      there are plenty of organizations that are there for abuse victims, there are those that help victims and those that teach safety, every year the schools in CH learn about safety, and there are organizations that have free therapist but JCW is the only organization that is there to post people and get revenge, they are not there for victims they are there to get their anger out and yes no other organization does that, because every other organization focus is on the positive and JCW focus is on the negative “EYE for a EYE”.

      Just a reminder we live in the US private people can make organizations for the positive, but punishments need to be handled in a court of law

      PS this is not to bash seewald in anyway and in no way is defending anyone on the website. just answering of why there is no other organization like this

      The only Reason saftey kid and training in schools happened is because Seewald brought the word sexual abuse out from underneath and it is no longer a secret. If his site never created it and brought awearness to crown heights and other pleaces no one would know it is a problem.

      Camps never did ANYTHING until he started it.

    When it comes to “mesirah” for abuse and other such crimes, especially when a Bais Din allowed it, I can’t see any justification for retaliatory action against the victim. This revolts me so much that, if someone does knock off the whistleblower, I might not be so fast to condemn victims or victim supporters who go beserk and…..CH”V! I mean could this happen?

    Now, my question. With such an attitude, do I have a problem, or do I have company of those who feel the same way?

    Did you see the post of Rabbi Moshe Gutnick’s, Beis Din in Sydney, Australia look up the CH archive, public apology and asking for forgiveness before Yom Kippur on the unfortunate happenings of what took place at Bondi Sydney’s Yeshivah. There is a Royal Commission on the case now and yes, although not convicted or charged with any crime it is chilling to know that this ALLEGED abuser was spirited away from Australia and is living in our neck of the woods

      Of course not. None of them possess the knowledge, fortitude, or wherewithall to stand up for what’s right. Sadly, the litvish do have such rabbonim. Not in Chabad though.

      If you think they should, ask your local rov why he isnt involved. Or simply ask, has he ever called JCW to discuss their policies.

    Anyone who knows of child abuse and does not report it needs to spend a lot of time in jail. Period.
