Lubavitcher Featured in Beer Commerical

The Heineken Beer Company recently did a promotional stunt at JFK airport, where they offered passengers the opportunity to switch their upcoming flight for a ticket to anywhere else on earth. The Catch? Their new destination is randomly chosen by a computer.

While several passengers took up the challenge and changed their travel plans on the spot, one passenger was unable to do so because his wife really wanted to go home.

Can you identify them?

Two other commercials featuring Lubavitchers that we have reported in the past can be seen here and here.

  • Sleeve?

While this is interesting, it is insulting the way his wife dragged him by the sleeve. Chassidic people don’t do this in public.

Oh shut up!!! Mendel is such a nice sweet guy who does so much for the community, why the heck are you giving him a hard time?

Suppose he wasn’t such a community activist, you still should leave him, and all other people alone.

So his wife schleped his shirt, what now? you gonna sue her? Live in the real world just for five minutes. Do what you and your wife decide is best for you, but dictating how others should live their life will ONLY lead you to misery. Something tells me I’m a little, but don’t worry, you can go to therapy. It actually works. You can process all your “stuff” and IYH get better.

Just for the record, I’m not related to the Duchmans or Hechts in any way – there’s no bias attached here. While I am a fan of Mendel, my comment is more in repulsion of you rishuskyt.

  • Sometimes it's better to stay quiet

The first comment had to be someone finding fault…
Do you think that comment had the potential to be embarrassing to that couple? If so, probably shouldn’t have been said. Not an effective idea to point out these things in a public forum. It’s just not kind.

  • common on!!!

Lighten up. It looked like they were having fun. I love the idea. I am concerned what would happen if it came up Beirut Lebanon or Syria?

  • to comment #1

I’m glad you are “so religious”. Chassidic people don’t bash other people in public either.

oh shut up and start living ……life can be with a smile on your face or with crying stroking your beard by a depressing farbrangen …choose life my friend :)) its a better choice

    • The derech the Rebbe taught us

      Farbrengen???

Pls don’t equate hostility with farbrengens

Im against nasty comments in public as well as being pro Farby

Plus don’t insinuate that comment number 1 is emblematic of chasidus farbrengens or anything todo with Authentic Judaism

  • Think about it

    1. Only a Lubavitcher knows that ANYWHERE he can find a Chabad shaliach for kosher food, minyan, shabbos meal etc. so push the button without worry!
    2. Only a person who has zero responsibility / achrayus in life can drop his plans and go somewhere spontaneously – which is why MOST people decline the offer and only the rare few laidig gayers are willing to push the button.

    • jo

push the butten never to return on the same level.sounds like some one gambling with their yirat shemayim

  • Mr. Lanberg 8th Grade ULY-OP

    Mendel, Is most Charismatic,Student;Gentelman I have ever Known :I only Continue to wish him Mu8ch Success;
I heard He did Did some Free airline Tickets

  • just me

hilarious – this is very funny.

As for #1 – what can I say – some will always seek to cast a dark mood over others.

Obviously this individual has nothing close to a strong or even stable sholom bayis, love of life and a happy outlook.

    Good for you Mendel LOL

  • To number 1

Look like every else said they were having fun they both didn’t mind and if they were not embarrassed then I don’t see what the problem is if they don’t mind then u shouldn’t mind

  • Nother solution?

How else do you stop an impulsive bear? Effectively. By having a shout-match?
She happens to be dressed in a perfectly acceptable way, which was planned, and grabbing the sleeve was spontaneous.
His T-shirt in public may be the least chassidishe part of the picture. I know I know. There will be shouts about this. But the bottom line is that lack of tznius is a result of a certain hefkerus of the mind. Lub men display much more of that. The women’s dress mode? Planned and designed inch by missing inch.

    • numbers keep changing

you mean “Think about it” comment – it got me thinking too, LOL, hit the nail on the hammer, so true.

  • jo

xthis is so un educational.it teaches us to go where ever the waves take us.is this what we wnt from our children?the lubovitchers wife is on track.but her husband ……

  • nevel kremacug..shedrin..

    #1 you are 1000%correct…
THIS IS NOT WHAT CHASSIDISHE PEOPLE DO IN PUBLIC..
AND FOR ALL YOU 24 COMMENTS AFTER #1.. ONE QUESTION… DONT BE SUCH FERDEN… THIS HAS NOTHIN G TO DO WITH #1 SHOLOM BAYIS OR ANYTHING ELSE… THIS ISNT EIDEL.. THIS ISNT KOL BAS MELECH… ETC… .SHOOT THE MESSENGER ALL YOU WANT THE MESSAHE STANDS
    NOW YOU CAN SHOOT #26…
    A GUT SHABBOS

  • Sleeve?

I am the same person from comment # 1. Sorry to have brought a “darkness” on your enjoyment of fun. But what can I say? Chassidisher couples don’t touch each other in public. That’s how we behave. If you think that is “dark”, I am sorry, but your “light” isn’t based on any Chassidic customs.

As for my personal life that so many of you seem to know, let me say this: I am a Shliach (for over 20 years), with a very stable marriage, family, and BH all Chassidisher kids. Anyone who knows out family knows that well. Sorry, folks. You guys who choose to make this personal need to get a life. Publicizing this footage is inconsistent with Chassidic behavior.

  • Ms Jackson

God bless all of you that are negative to find more important things to dwell on…not nonsense with touching or what one is wearing! If not for normalcy like this loving couple..then what is there. You should only learn from Mr.& Mrs Duchman.

  • OMG

Mendel & Rochel are great ! Every couple should have such a marriage! And the touching /Nidda part is definitely not of snybodys business…….

  • #1 is right

I thought in Lubavitch we try to maintain modesty in the public eye. I’m sure the Duchmans are wonderful and all, however ch.info shouldn’t be promoting this imho.

  • what

What is so shocking to see a wife pull her husband’s sleeve? For goodness sake!

  • To #1 and all the "holier that thou"

Please lighten up! It’s amazing what you noticed… Let me tell you what I noticed: 1) A Yid with a Shaine Beard 2) His wife was dressed like a Chassidishe woman (no, not LA…) 3) the guy has a sense of humor and is open minded. 4) They get along very well and do things together, like traveling and leisure. 5) A Lubavitcher in the right place at the right time… once again!

BTW did you notice that they are grandparents already?
It’s not like they were walking holding hands b4 the event.

To those who only notice negative and jump to criticize: maybe if he would have pressed it – they would have ended up in a place – B’hashgacha Protis – which was waiting for them form the beginning of creation?
    Who knows?

  • OMG

Maybe CH.info should put in place some rules where you have to prove you have some seichel before you can comment…

  • Snag Boy

ms jaxson has the right idea i cant beleive the negetivity i am reading in most of youre comments…..
did anyone mention the 2 weeks of kiddush Lubavitch the duchmans made as birthright madrichim?
or the 100’s of shluchim mendel helps with his padyom program………
personally i am not a big fan of chabad and if u read most of the comments above you will know why………
time for a dance with the yellow flag

  • He actually TEACHES shluchim and leads a youth minyan!

He gives seminars and classes TO shluchim on behavior and conduct. I don’t get it – is he the DUGMA for shluchim?? Is he the dugma for the youth minyan he leads?? What is wrong with this picture??

  • Woman's rights

Rochel has the right idea ……
“Why vacation with the people you want a vacation from”
    Go Girl!!…

  • Back to basics

Miss high & mighty shluchA I am NOT On shlichus
Some of my kids are NOT religious
But one thing I do KNOW & I can count on
Is that they would never ever embarrass a fellow Jew
In public . So it’s time to lower your head in shame!!!

  • Back to basics

No no 48 you seem to be you want to take off
This shabbos from ur summer vacation & do it

  • They are truly amazing people

This couple is amazing. They do so much for others and give so much of themselves. They have sooooo much to teach.

  • Such real people

In this day and age u don’t know Who is real and who is fake. With these ppl. They are down to earth , chassidish and also enjoy a good time. See the positive ppl

  • what's with the negative comments

All these negative comments are crazy! Mendel and Rochel Duchman just finished leading a Birthright trip for 2 weeks …with Chayus and leadership…inspiring others and non-stop exhausting traveling…They were at the end of their trip still in their birthright traveling clothes with birthright nametags hanging from their necks…and they were challenged to get on a plane to who knows where…so what is so wrong with his wife tugging at his sleeve saying” I just want to go home”
I found it entertaining and funny. Whoever looks at this clip and only thinks of things like Tznius, privacy..is just plain NUTS! It just means that there are people who are bored…scrutinizing and so overzealous in trying to OutFrum the next person and see if they could be even more Mehudar..extending Halacha that is for their own personal reasons. Get a life!

  • Help our children

Maybe the reason some of our children are so embarrassed to report when they are sexually abused is because of people like #1 who make “touching” so negative and wrong. If only our children would witness HEALTHY kind and loving (appropriate) touching they would be able to integrate healthy sexuality into their lives and recognize depravity when it rears it’s ugly head.

  • Help our children

Maybe the reason some of our children are so embarrassed to report when they are sexually abused is because of people like #1 who make “touching” so negative and wrong. If only our children would witness HEALTHY kind and loving (appropriate) physical affection they would be able to integrate healthy sexuality into their lives and recognize depravity when it rears it’s ugly head.

  • Emergency ecception - Chosid Shota

If your husband is about to push a button and jump to wherever it says – its an emergency situation where touching his shirt may be allowed! LOL

  • Ah charpa un ah shanda

We all agree this is unflattering, but some people have a need to be in the spotlight.

  • A chasidhe persone shouldn't watch this video

A chasidishe persone shouldn’t whatch this all together if it’s md wife pulling sleve or not

MD his a good chasidishe yid and very dedicated to a lot of things

  • I don't. Care. What

I don’t. Care what but hurting someone’s feelings is unacebtable pulling on your husbands sleeve (by the way) especially by mistake is gonna be forggiven. In heaven but embarrassing some one won’t and not just privately but berabim the rebbe would never approve to say that in public because its just not going to help and if u really cared u would go over to the person personally. And let them know but. Instead lets lashon harah Away I’m not saying that I. Agree with pulling your husbands sleeve in public but I deffinetly dont agree with bashing someone in public and the rebbe doesn’t either apparently u don’t really care about the person or there ruchnius u r just bored and u should go learn some Torah instead of embarrassing people in public any buddy who says that screaming at someone about pulling her husbands sleeves is more important than there dignity then there a lowlife there r other ways to tell someone off privetly every one have a great day and chasima vachsima tova have a chasidishe year with nachas and joy health and wealth enjoy your learning
