Five teens have been charged with a hate crime after sheriff’s deputies say they spray painted swastikas and other graffiti in several buildings at the Kaiman Bungalow colony on Mount Hope Road.

Around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Deputy Blake Starner spotted several people exiting a home on the grounds. He called for backup and chased the five teens through the woods and onto the Swan Lake golf course. Additional deputies, a K-9 unit and state troopers arrived and arrested Daniel Anderson, 19, Travis Beaupierre, 16, Dishawn Terry, 16, Malik Keith, 18, and Daemion Cameron ,19, all of Swan Lake.

Deputies say they broke into several buildings, spray painted graffiti and swastikas, and stole property.

They were charged with second-degree burglary as a hate crime, criminal mischief as a hate crime and resisting arrest.

They were arraigned and taken to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
