Shluchos Not Forgotten in Kinus Issue of Compass
With the final preparations for the Kinus HaShluchim coming together, shluchos will be happy to know that their husbands will come home with inspiration geared for the whole family.
The Chabad House Compass Magazine, published for shluchim by Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch’s Suite 302, has been expanded to address issues faced by shluchim and shluchos alike. Rabbi Beryl Frankel, director of Merkos Suite 302, describes the magazine’s facelift as “holistic,” set to appeal to the shliach and shlucha as a family unit.
“The Balancing Act” is the theme that runs through this issue’s pages, with practical tips from shluchim and shluchos on how to juggle being a shliach, spouse, and parent all at the same time, as guided by the Rebbe’s inspiration. Along with regularly recurring columns such as chinuch, halacha, and maanos from the Rebbe to shluchim and shluchos, this issue includes an inspirational piece about a young special shliach, as well as thoughts on teen programming, fundraising tips for shluchos, a tribute to Mr. Sami Rohr, OBM, and more.
As the magazine’s mission statement is “for shluchim, by shluchim,” all content is generated by shluchim and shluchos themselves. While a mix of perspectives is gathered from seasoned shluchim and new shluchim alike, the experience and insight of those in the field is what lends every article its interest, trustworthiness, and relatability. Tying it all together is a full-service production team of professional writers, designers, editors, and producers.
Both the shluchim and production team are pleased with the new integrative approach the magazine has taken and look forward to more developments to come. In keeping with this approach, the next issue of The Chabad House Compass Magazine will be published in honor of the Kinus HaShluchos.
“The Rebbe repeatedly emphasized the unique role and powers of the shluchos in their shlichus,” explains Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch. “We are here to aid the development of shlichus as a whole; we recognize that shluchos play just as important a role as shluchim, and we want our services to reflect that.”
