Chabad of Boca Raton Teens Spend First Shabbos in Crown Heights

NEW YORK, NY [CHI] — A group of teens from Chabad of Boca Raton, Florida came to Crown Heights with Rabbi Shmuly G. to experience their first Shabbos ever! They enjoyed a beautiful Friday night; beginning with Davening in 770, the sea of black hats truly amazed them. A delicious meal with the Gutnick family, catered by Mrs. Gutnick herself, kept their appetites satisfied, and finally an amazing Farbrengen lasting till the early morning inspired them. Shabbos day they returned to 770 and loved the chulent experience.

The rest of the weekend was packed going to all the major tourist attractions around Manhattan. This included the Empire State Building, Jerusalem 2 Pizza, Times Square, ESPN Zone, Ground Zero, FAO Schwartz, Rockefeller Center ice skating rink, Statue of Liberty, Madison Square Garden, and Madame Tussauds wax museum. Back in Crown Heights the group went to the Rebbes room, the Matzah Bakery, Kingston Ave. shopping, and Hasofer were Rabbi Shloimy Klien gave an amazing Tefillin demonstration. The next stop on the trip was to Albany Bakery. Owner, Mordechai Korolitzky, led the group to the back of the shop where all the baking action takes place. Everyone received aprons, rolling pins, dough, jelly, and a hands-on-experience of hamantashin making. Before dashing off to the next activity, R. Mordechai gave doughnuts and Shliach Mitzva gelt to all.

Before the amazing weekend was over the teens had the opportunity to visit the Rebbes Ohel. The teens were greatly effected and awed by the entire experience. Each and every one of them took the time to write a personal Pan to the Rebbe.

The teens saw that it is possible to celebrate Judaism in today’s modern world and enjoy every minute of it! And of course, have the most rocking time ever with Rabbi Shmuly G.!

A special thanks to Itzick and Avremi Yarmush and all those that helped make this trip a success!
