CSSY Makes Pre-Yomtov Plea for Help

“While you are out shopping for cheesecake and other delicacies for Shavuos, please take a minute and think about your friends, neighbors and relatives who are calling us for money and knocking on our door so that they can buy challah and milk for Yom Tov,” writes director of Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yomtov (CSSY) Rabbi Bentzion Stock in a letter to the Crown Heights community:

My Dear Friends,

While you are out shopping for cheesecake and other delicacies for Shavuos, please take a minute and think about your friends, neighbors and relatives who are calling us for money and knocking on our door so that they can buy challah and milk for Yom Tov.

This year Shavuos falls out in middle of the week. Which places families who are already struggling with Shabbos food to come up with additional Yom Tov meals.

Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov, the premier Tzedakah organization of Crown Heights since 1978, distributes food vouchers on a weekly basis and Yom Tov grants before Yom Tov.  We are working day and night to help these families put food on their tables. We need your partnership to make this happen.

Help us help others. Please open your hearts and wallets and donate generously! Donate now online at www.cssy.org or mail your donation to CSSY 593 Montgomery St. Brooklyn, NY 11225.

All assistance from CSSY is done in a 100% discreet manner. You won’t see pictures online of our distributions and you wouldn’t know if your friend or neighbor is a CSSY beneficiary, it is true Matan Basaiser

Wishing you Kabollas HaTorah B’simcha Ub’pnimiyus
Benzion Stock

P.S. Your timely and generous response to our Shavuos Appeal is crucial to ensuring that every family in our Crown Heights community has what they need for Shabbos and Shavuous. On behalf of the community thank you for your support. Please Donate today visit www.CSSY.org or by now you should have received at your door a self addressed envelope for your convenience.

Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov is a not-for-profit corporation and federally approved 501 (c) (3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.
