Tonight: ‘Torah and Tea’ Gathering in Memory of Rashi

In honor of Mrs. Rashi Minkowicz, OBM, a beloved Shlucha and mother whose life was tragically cut short earlier this month, Crown Heights women will gather tonight for a ‘Torah and Tea’ seminar in her memory.

‘Torah and Tea’ began as a weekly gathering Rashi would arrange for the local Jewish women in her town of Alpheretta, Georgia. On the eve of her passing, she sent out her last text message: a reminder to the women of her community to come and learn at her home. Shortly before the event was to start, Rashi fell ill, and her soul was taken from us later that night.

In Rashi’s memory, Jewish communities all over the world have taken up weekly ‘Torah and Tea’ gatherings. Not wanting Crown Heights to be left out, the Lubavitcher Yeshiva PTA has arranged a Torah and Tea program for the women of our community, which will take place tonight, Wednesday, March 26 (24 Adar II) 8:00pm at Lubavitcher Yeshiva – 570 Crown St. [corner Albany Avenue].

The lecture will be delivered by Rashi’s sister-in-law Mrs. Gitty Rosenfeld, a veteran educator and principal of the Online School for Young Shluchim.

“Let’s stand together in Achdus and take this opportunity to perpetuate Rashi’s legacy through unity and action. Together we can learn how to value the everyday and accomplish what this special woman did in her short lifetime,” said the director of the PTA.

Why not emphasize the positive, and say with pride that crown heights is also taking part, rather than saying ” not wanting c heights to be left out etc”
