Thank goodness he was the only one.

What is this new meshigaas (nad probably against halacha) to run in a marathon?

Wonder what would happen if he went by dollars and said I need a bracha for running in the marathon to raise money for the chabad house???

I can give many answers to counteract your quick judgement. During Sefira we should judge favorably and be critical of ourselves only. Very likely he asked his Mashpia and he got the green light. NO I’m not a marathon runner. Wish I was in that good shape :)

Odom keep on running higher and higher bgur gam yachad.

I think the rebbe would say bracha vhatzlacha and and I wonder what the rebbe would say to one which is neged (against) his shlucim
    my comment is
its so amazing what misiras nefesh a shliach of the rebbe would have to fundraise money for his Chabad hose (grate job) :)

  • Congratulations!

Congratulations from a member of Team Friendship! Running 26.2 miles is no small accomplishment. May you inspire others in the name of good health and physical well being as well as spiritual health. Maybe the rabbi will join Chabad’s http://www.TeamFriendship.Org in 2018!

Rabbi Schusterman said at the Kinnus one year that it is not acceptable for a Shliach to run the Marathon. Before Gimmel Tammuz no Shliach would ever think of running the Marathon.

Thank you for posting that. In a case where a chasid, a

Attends and participates in a mixed gender event you have to consult a
      רב מורה הוראה בפועל
And just any mashpia although I highly doubt a competent mashpia would give you the green light for such a thing.

Where does it say in Shulchan Aruch, that it’s forbidden to run on a marathon?

The fact that it ONLY bothers YOU – is because YOU are simply jealous that a shliach raised well over $10k in One single day!!!

do we really need a source for something simple as tznius? what has happened to us??
      Basic principles of tznius
Would you go swimming with fully clothed opposite gender? is that ok?

  • who said

he didn’t ask his personal Rov or Mashpia.

And I’ve wondered for a while how is it possible for any community to have mixed ice skating? Ice skating to me seems like dancing.

Maybe some Rabbonim allow it, and some dont. I don’t know

Rabbi Schusterman also said that you can’t do ‘Chanukah on Ice’ because is it just like mixed dancing.
But unfortunately people don’t want to hear when it doesn’t suit them.
