      Because the safety and security of several million Jews (kein yirbu) is bound up with the existence of the state? There’s a vast difference between saying that it should have been established lechatchila, and supporting it now. See almost any letter or sicha from the Rebbe on this topic.

      There’s also a difference between supporting the people living there and legitimizing the secular government through “activism;” the latter is not characteristic of a Lubavitcher chosid. See almost any letter or sicha from the Rebbe on this topic.

    There was no greater advocate for Israel than the Lubavitcher Rebbe. He even met with the prime ministers, and so many, many, many activists, politicians, and so forth.
