Rabbi Levi Wolosow was among the tens of thousands of participants in the 12th Siyum HaShas, held at the MetLife stadium in the Meadowlands on August 1st. He was there with several students from his adult education class at Chabad of Western Monmouth County, who had approached him five years ago asking to study the Daf Yomi.

Rabbi Wolosow called the event “very festive and very energetic” in an interview with the New Jersey Jewish News.

This is like the old days IN REVERSE, when people photographed Satmarer and Torah Ve`daas guys who came for kos shel brocho. Except for the Convention (which most people can’t attend) the action has left Lubavitch. Even Gimmel Tammuz at the Ohel nothing was going on-people sitting around like orphans. We need to get on with the program. Our own Shluchim have started looking elsewhere for chayos in Yiddishkeit.

  • A message to all of us!

To #2, no need to be so negative! Every single “sect” in the Yiddishe velt has something special to offer. Just because you identify as Lubavitch doesn’t mean you must identify as “better than everyone else.” We are different, and who is wise? Haloimed mikol odom. This Heileghe Shliach enjoyed a good time for a good reason, to be together with other Yidden of all kinds. We aren’t “above” that, and if anyone here thinks that they are, they should “check their baggage very carefully.”

Let’s see. A shliach connected some of his mekuravim with many thousands of Jews all over the world, united in Torah learning, many of whom are even Lubavitch. You’re right, that is “looking elsewhere.” NOT! No further comment needed.

  • Moshiach

Actually there were mani chabanikim at MetLife
It’s great! One of the largest Jewish gathering from all times
We never had in in Lubavitch something even similar to this! 100.000 of ydden and tens of thousand online ,trying to bring Moshiach!

  • THE FACTS

While “WE” may have a monopoly in achavas yisroel, “THEY” are at a higher madreiga regarding learning Torah, davening with Cheshek, gemilus Chasadim, and being machmir in kashrus, shemiras haLashon and of course Tznius.
Besides, “THEY” haeve kept their levush and lashon, while we have droped it.
    These are just pashute facts.

For those who did to realize what took place:

We are still waiting for an apology to the entire Lubavitch for cropping the Rebbe’s pix off from one of Rabbi Besser’s.

This example did not exemplify achdus. as some here wish to say. I dont buy that.

I wonder if it would be a litvishe godol, wodul tjhey ahve cropped the pix?

    Levi,
Ver nisht nispoel from the comments.
Every yid who comes to Chabad House, and learns even one line because of this, is already a nitzochon vchu’
