Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah of Melbourne Takes A Trip Down Memory Lane

Beth Rivkah Ladies College in Melbourne, Australia was privileged to welcome a group of old collegians to ‘Alumni Day’ where they awed students with stories of old. The past students, many of whom have grandchildren at Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah, addressed each class at Beth Rivkah Primary and shared their stories of what life was like when they attended the same school. Students were fascinated to hear about the use of a rotary dial phone, transistor radios with tuning dial buttons, hand-written magazines and milk being dropped at their door steps in a glass bottle by horse and cart! It was great to see the old school hats, hand-written year books from 1963 and other charming school paraphernalia that they had chosen to hold on to for so many years.

This Alumni Day was run as part of the milestone year for Yeshivah – Beth Rivkah Colleges – its 70th Jubilee. Other celebratory days will be held as the year progresses, including a much-anticipated Alumni Reunion Event to be held on 26th May 2019 to which all past Beth Rivkah and Yeshivah students are invited. With food, entertainment and the opportunity to walk down memory lane it is set to be a night to be remembered! Bookings for the event are open now – head to https://ybralumni.eventbrite.com.au to secure your place!
