Shluchim Gather for Ground-Breaking Conference

Last week, over 90 shluchim and shluchos across North America came together to collaborate, educate and farbreng with one another, exploring successful tools for education, management, marketing and fundraising.

CKids, the Chabad children’s network, is well known for partnering with Shluchim to provide educational, fun and cutting edge programs, to engage and attract our people’s youngest constituents. The first of its kind, the CKids Conference united Shluchim and Shluchos for a three day intensive program with dual programming in Hebrew School and Camp leadership.

In addition to topics such as Hebrew school curriculum mapping and branding your summer Camp, the conference also featured separate farbrengens for the shluchim and Shluchos led by Rabbi Yisrael Deren, his wife Mrs. Vivi Deren (Stamford, Connecticut) and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’iynonei Chinuch.

Located in Bushkill, PA the conference provided a relaxing and beautifully catered environment that enhanced the networking experience. For parents travelling with children, My Shliach provided quality day camp experiences, enabling mothers and fathers to focus on and benefit from the full array of programs while their children enjoyed a fun and warm chasidishe environment.

Private coaching sessions were also available throughout the retreat, held by Shlucha, developmental psychologist, and writer, Chana Silberstein, PhD.

“My wife and I are relatively new in instituting these programs in our shlichus. Being surrounded by veteran shluchim and shluchos gave us the unique opportunity to draw upon their wisdom and experience,” shared Mrs. C. Berkowitz from Montreal, Canada “they gave us very pointed practical advice. I went home with new perspectives on how to best position myself in the community, and with clear and immediate steps to proceed forward in our hebrew school.”

“I came out with new perspectives on camp management, branding and marketing. Most of all, I gained insights in how to enjoy the experience of developing and running a camp without allowing myself to get run down in the nitty gritty. I always felt camp should be fun even for the directors—and now I know it truly can be!” Said Rabbi D. Pinson From Edmonton, Alberta.

Hebrew school presenters included Mrs. Sarah Alevsky, Rabbi and Mrs. Gansburg, Dr. Chana Silberstein, Mrs. Esti Paltiel, Mrs. Rochel Goldberg, Mrs. Rochel Levin and Mrs. Malky Blesofsky,CGI presenters included Rabbi Itchie Kahan, Rabbi and Mrs. Engel, Rabbi Zalmy Kudan and Mr. Tom Rosenberg President of the American Camp Association,

Further learning opportunities will be available at an upcoming one-day Hebrew School focused workshop on Chof Zayin Shvat at the JCM.

CKids is a project of Merkos Suite 302.

    wow this is so nice

i just spent the week on the Oasis of the Seas, and here with us is Rabbi Moshe Kotlorski.

i must say that he is great at working some of the crowd. it was also nice seeing him rest, and even sometimes while relaxing becoming busy on phone and email helping people. no mater the cost of the calls etc.

we wish rabbi Kotlorski much hatzlacha, and look forward for him to get back to work re-energized.

    we love you Moishe
