Photos: Judge to Rule on 770 Visits for Closer Look

New York State Supreme Court Judge Carolyn E. Wade, who is presiding over the litigation between Merkos L’inyonei  Chinuch and the Gabo’im over ownership and control of 770, visited Crown Heights today to take a detailed tour of the building to get a better idea of its history and what’s at stake when she delivers her verdict.

    honestly just confused.

What does Eli Cohen of the community council have to do with this?

He literally sticks himself into every photoshoot, but doesnt actually get anything done… ?

    like I said, confused.

  • No way

How can this “judge” even begin to understand what a Kehilah or Rebbe or Gabboim or Merkos is?
Look who is leading her around the place, and she is taking pictures of the equipment…
    Dis dont make sense…

  • Yossi A

    I’m also confused….
    What was she looking for/at????

Did she come with a mouse sensor to see how many mice roame the walls?

    Can someone please explain…..

  • so sad and so sick

this is so so sad and so unpleasant.
Eretz Yisroel belongs to the Yidden..that we all agree on, right?
And 770 belongs to the Rebbe, that we all agree on, right?
So what’s the question? 770 belongs to Agudas Chasidei Chabad… it’s inscribed right on top of the entrance….
I don’t even reside in Crown Hts yet it does not take a rocket scientist to understand the truth…
But when you start twisting the emes you end up with the craziness we have.. Moshiach now!!!

  • eli cohen

eli cohen is supposed to represent the whole crown heights community. It is very inappropiate for him to publicly take a side like this against at least half of the crownheights community

  • Unbiased??

Eli Cohen is not the person to give the judge a tour. Rather, it should be some outside historian. Eli Cohen is in cahoots with CHJCC who is in cahoots with the Alt-Rabbonim who support the Gabboim.

I’d like to know what he told her on the QT.

  • Ad Mosai

If they are so concerned about who “owns” 770, perhaps they should act responsibly and actually clean up the Shul.

It is an embarrassment to Chabad and even the Rebbe was upset at its appearance. Not to mention leaking ceilings, no a/c for the Yomim Tovim, and I’m sure I could go on.

It’s disgusting, How much money was wasted on this idiocy over 20 years?

Stop these Chillul HaShem lawsuits now, make shalom, and use the money to improve 770!

    • Milhouse

How can they clean the place when the people who are making the mess are in full-time occupation, and will beat them up if they so much as set foot there? The first thing must be to get the owners back in possession, with the ability to exclude those people they don’t want on their property. Then they can clean it and keep it clean.

  • Crown Heights Resident

It’s sad to see how much Tzedokah money (approximately $1,000,000 in legal fees) is being spend by Jewish People (in Crown Heights) to fight against each other in court.

Imagine how much good that $ could do for the needy people & the Yeshivah’s in crown heights.

If the Gabboim & Merkos would Agree to a Peaceful Compromise.

  • Why not compromise?

Let Merkas run 770 Sunday Tuesday and Thursday, while the Gaba’im run it the other days?
    Is it that complicated?
