Photos: Shas Leader Aryeh Deri Visits the Ohel and 770

Following a visit to the Ohel, R’ Aryeh Deri, leader of the Israeli political party Shas, made a special trip Crown Heights. During the visit he stopped at 770, the Rebbe’s Library and the offices of Kolel Chabad.

Deri, who arrived in New York Wednesday morning, reached out to his friends Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman and Rabbi Levi Edrei and asked that they arrange his visit to the Ohel and Crown Heights.

In Crown Heights he was greeted by Rabbi Sholom Duchman, head of Kolel Chabad, which is the oldest and largest charity in Israel, and Rabbi Zalman Duchman. Together they visited the Rebbe’s room and the Rebbe’s library.

Following the visit, the group went to the offices of Kolel Chabad for a quick Farbrengen and tour of what Kolel Chabad does in Israel.

Also joining Deri for the visit was Rabbi Yechuzkel Chanunu and Rabbi Gershon Burkis from Israel.

  • How can you allow this person in 770

He is the one most responsible for Oslo and what just happened last week. He didnt even utter one word of tshuva. He and his Rabbi have much Jewish blood on their hands.

chabad is mekarev everyone and all under all circumstances that’s the way I see it and in this light only I can cope with the attention he is getting

#1) your attitude is one of the major reason no Moschiach despite all the inane screaming we wan it now and Yachi
#5) every Jew should be treated with respect and Chabad does great work aiding many of those who would be dubbed the lowlife of society such as drug addicts, criminals and so forth.
did not all the rebbes advance the concept of Ahavas Israel???

Its not about forgiveness. Its about the fact that Deri was and is a dangerous man in power. If the political opportunity should present itself, he would do the exact same thing again. Also, you cannot compare him to a guy like Peres, whom the Rebbe accepted in 770, since Peres is an open lefty who says what he means and means what he says. Deri however will continue to do what is politically expedient even if it means that Jewish lives will be lost, while presenting himself as a right-winger. Do you really think he cares about touring 770, he just wants his picture taken with Chabad “leaders” so he can use this in his next campaign. And these chabad “leaders” know full well what they’re doing but they don’t care as long as their organizations get some shekels.
