New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio

Mayor De Blasio’s Popularity Hits a New Low

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s popularity continues to fall in the wake of several bruising political battles, a new poll released Wednesday shows.

The Quinnipiac University poll found that 44 percent of registered city voters approved of de Blasio’s job performance, a number that held steady from the Quinnipiac’s previous poll, conducted in May.

But the percentage of New Yorkers who disapproved of his performance ticked up from 40 percent to 44 percent during that same period, leaving de Blasio with what appears to be his lowest net approval rating since he took office in January 2014.

  • Well how about that...

Mr. Bill, most people in this city are not interested in your “progressive agenda”, the only “agenda” they want is good governance, where you fall far, far short. In some ways you’re worse than Dinkins, which is quite an accomplishment…

    • Elections

I’m not interested in his “progressive agenda” either, but to say that most of the most people in this city are not interested, then I ask, how did he become Mayor of NYC (didn’t the people vote)?

  • impeach

He should be impeached. He is worse than Dinkins and Bloomberg put together.

  • MR MAYER!

didn’t you announce that you would be traveling to Israel this summer, to speak out against Anti semitism?

yell you probably didn’t want to be seen smiling with Bibi, when your hero in the white house is busy bashing him.

  • To # 2 Elections

He managed to win in a crowded primary field, in part by taking a chunk of the black vote from Thompson with commercials featuring his bi-racial son with the afro. He won the general election because of “Bloomberg fatigue” and an extremely weak opponent. Voter turnout was quite low, I think it’s fair to say that most people were not enamored with him then, and even less so now.
