At least 21 people were shot across New York City over the weekend, one of the bloodiest for the city in recent years. The shootings took place in all of the city’s five boroughs: Nine people were shot in Brooklyn, five in Manhattan, five in the Bronx, one in Queens and one on Staten Island, police said.

Four of the victims died.

Among those injured were a 10-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man. They were shot Saturday on Coney Island and are listed in stable condition.

Police ask anyone with information about any of the shootings to call Crime Stoppers at 800 577-TIPS.

About 600 new officers are graduating from the Police Academy on Monday, reported the AP. They will be partnered with veteran officers and sent out to target the most violent, crime-ridden neighborhoods, including Crown Heights and its surrounding areas.
