BDE: Yitzchak Yaakov “Jerry” Simon, 84, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Yitchak Yaakov Simon OBM, a longtime resident, and original caterer of Crown Heights. He was 84 years old.

Yitzchak, who came to Lubavitch as a child, was best known as the original caterer of Crown Heights. He was the caterer for many events over his 50 plus years in the business as well as the caterer for the first Kinus Hashluchim and Kinus Hashluchos. He was zoiche to help the Rebbe with the distribution of Talks and Tales prior to the nesius.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Sarah Malka, and his children Chana Etka Fefferman (Flatbush), Tziril Goldman (Crown Heights), Aliza Sheinfeld (Crown Heights), Nechama Dahan (Montreal, Canada).

He is survived by his brother Mottel Simon (Crown Heights).

Levaya at 1pm, and will be passing 770 at 1:45.

Shiva  will be held at 391 Crown St. Family requests no visitors after 10pm.

    Oy. How very sad. He used to daven in Empire Shteeble. Empire Shteeble is losing to many members young and old. His son in law Obm davened in Empire Shteeble too.
