Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Chaya Mushka Spalter, 11, OBM

With great sadness, shock and deep pain we inform you of the very untimely passing of Chaya Spalter OBM, a brave young girl who united and inspired many with her positivity. She was 11 years old.

After long and valiant battle against yeneh machlah, Chaya Spalter tragically passed away today, Sunday.

Chaya, 11, was a brave young girl who beat the illness once only for it to return a few years later.

Her illness brought many together and inspired them to take on new good deeds in the merit of her recovery.

A few short months ago, while on a helicopter ride, she was surprised by her school – Beis Chaya Mushka High School in Los Angeles, California – who waited on the rooftop to greet her as she flew over in a LAPD helicopter.

She is survived by her parents Rabbi Mendy and Hadassah Spalter, siblings Geny, Chana’le, Dovi, Moishy, Sarah Rochel and Levi Yitzchak.

She is also survived by her grandparents R’ Shmuel and Mirel Spalter – North Miami Beach, FL and Rabbi Ezra Schochet and his wife Batsheva.

Levaya info will be posted when it is announced.

One of the most prominent Chabad family. Reb Mendel is a Chossid בשורה הראשונה and his Rebbitzin is the first לכל דבר שבקדושה. This special Neshama inspired thousands. Her strength and courage while in pain was astonishing. May she be an advocate for Klal Yisroel and beseech the Almighty and storm the heavens for a Geula Shleima.

  • Hashem, why???
