With sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Chaim Meir Lustig today, Monday at the age of 82. He was a long time resident of Crown Heights and was one of the oldest members of the Agudah Shul on Crown St.

He is survived be his wife Itu SheTichye and his son, Rabbi Hershel Lustig, principal of Oholei Torah and two daughters: ZC Lustig (Boro Park) and Esther Elgrabley (Flatbush), as well as his two brothers; Reb Yankel Lustig (Cincinnati, OH) and, Sander Lustig (Boro Park) and two sisters; Dina Shenker (Flatbush), and Cheykei Weiss (Flatbush).

When Rabbi Chaim Meir Lustig was 10, he escaped death in Europe with his parents in 1938 and settled in the United States.

He got married in the United States to Itu and lived in Chicago. In 1956 he moved to Crown Heights to send their son, Hershel to the Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Bedford and Dean.

Rabbi Lustig was a beloved educator for many years, teaching in many different schools and Talmud Torahs in the Tri-State area.

His wife was the head of the Crown Heights Bikur Choli for many years.

The Levayah will be tomorrow, Tuesday 10:00am at Shomrei Hadas, passing 770 at approximately 10:45am
