Shluchim Claim Title to World’s Largest Selfie

Every year since 1983, Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis from around the world have gathered for a group shot at the Kinus Hashluchim, the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries. The first gathering drew 65 rabbis.

As the number of participants swelled—more than 4,200 rabbis are in town for this year’s conference—the photo has grown in scope with the rabbis crowding the frame.

This year, a few tech-savvy rabbis decided to add a modern twist to the photo. With the help of local photographer Chaim Perl, and using Twitter and WhatsApp to coordinate, they gathered before the main shot to take a massive group selfie.
