Two Bochurim Stabbed on Way to Kotel Shavuos Night

Two Jewish teenagers were moderately wounded in a stabbing attack on the first night of Shavuos (Motzei Shabbos) on their way to the Kotel. The attack occurred in the area of Sha’ar Shechem in the old city of Jerusalem.

B’chasdei Hashem, their condition improved over yomtov, and they are now listed in light-to-moderate condition in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

The two, Breslov Chassidim, were heading to the Kotel for a night of Torah study. One victim, an 18-year-old, was stabbed in his back and is listed in light/stable condition. The second victim, 15, is listed in light-to-moderate condition.

The incident occurred at 2:30 in the morning, though there was heavy pedestrian traffic in the area because many were heading to the Kotel.

The 19-year-old Arab male attacker was apprehended later by police after they reviewed surveillance-camera footage.
