Suspects in Custody over Murder of Menachem Stark

Sources have confirmed with CrownHeights.info that several suspects have just been taken in for questioning in connection with the brutal murder of Williamsburg landlord Menachem Stark. No formal arrests or charges have yet been made.

Stark, 39, a father of eight young children, disappeared on Thursday evening, January 2nd, 2014.

Survailence video revealed that Stark was hustled into a white minivan after struggling with two thugs who approached him as he left his South Side Associates office on Rutledge St. near the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn.

His body was discovered two days later smoldering in a dumpster near a gas station in Nassau County, Long Island.

Sources say the murder began as an attempted robbery that went terribly wrong, though CrownHeights.info has not confirmed this claim.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Update 11:52am: Despite several press releases by local Jewish leaders praising the apprehension of the suspects, the NYPD still won’t confirm that they have made a formal arrest.

A source quoted NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton as saying “Over the past 24 hours, the case has significantly accelerated,” and “All I can say, the investigation is accelerating and moving very quickly.”
